This was our first cruise and I spent months reading cruise critic reviews planning the ship, shore excursions, stateroom, etc.  Then came the swine flu...:)  I was so disappointed with the way Princess handled this minicrisis.  The lack of information, communication, and decision making on their part was abysmal.  They figured out what was going on Thursday before our sailing on Saturday. It was not a good way to start our trip.Embarkation was a breeze.  We walked up, went through security and were on board in less than ten minutes.  One note, for those who rent vehicles from enterprise, they close on Saturdays at noon, so you can pay to catch a hotel shuttle where their key drop box is.Our stateroom was nice, actually bigger than I had imagined.  There was plenty of space for the two of us, even the showers weren't as small as I had pictured. Our room steward, Renato, was fabulous.  He was so friendly and efficient, our room was always well taken care of.Sabatinis was well worth the surcharge.  The service was absolutely outstanding and the food was wonderful.  Our favorite dining room was Santa Fe, the service was excellent, hey remembered you from night to night.  I got quite sea sick and the servers were attentive to the fact that I wasn't eating and offered their own sea sick remedies, making special orders from the kitchen and bringing them to the table.  They were great.  Pacific moon wasn't that great, we went once and didn't find the service to be as nice as the other restaurants. The Savoy was nice, we went there on one of the formal nights, it had a bit more formal atmosphere which was nice. The food was great, Santa Fe's specialty fajitas were wonderful, by far a favorite.  The buffet was fine, we ate a lot of fruit. The pizza was ok, the burger and fries were good.  Room service was fast. The entertainment was good.  The boat was really rocking so it was amazing the dancers could keep their balance.  Becky Allen was absolutely amazing...don't miss her shows. They aren't as professional as a Broadway show, but they are good live theatre shows, and less than an hour long which keeps it from getting too boring.  The music show with Britney Spears music is by far the weakest of the options. The comedians were funny except for Dan Bennet.  We walked out thinking we had wasted an hour of our lives.  It was really bad, really really bad.  Kevin Jordan was hilarious. The games shows put on throughout the week were great.  There was a lot of audience participation and they were funny.  The cruise staff was great.   Dance lessons with Karen were fun and actually good lessons.  She was great. California was surprisingly nice and we made the best of our trip and had a good time.Overall, we enjoyed our cruise, it was a nice way to vacation. Will we sail with princess again?  I don't know, there wasn't anything that I thought was so special it could only be found on Princess.
