I sailed on this cruise as someone who cannot eat gluten or dairy. I was very skeptical that the staff and chefs could accommodate my food issues. I was very pleasantly surprised.
I had contacted special needs several months in advance, and also since we upgraded to a suite, I contacted the preconcierge. She was able to tell me about all of the gluten free products available onboard.
It took a couple of days to get the staff coordinated on my diet. As part of the suite perks, you get an afternoon tray of canapes. Well, the first tray we received was not gluten or dairy free. A card was attached which said, "compliments of the hotel director". I called the extension on the card and said, "I appreciate the gesture, but I cannot eat these". I reiterated my food intolerances, and he said he would note it down.
Cabin was large for a cruise ship-about the size of a hotel room. Light switches were a bit confusing. Air conditioning either too cold or too warm. No storage space in bathroom-bring a hanging toiletry case. Lots of closet space and drawers. Quiet. The cabin was clean, and our room steward did a great job. Great view of lava on sail by. Go to Skyline starboard side window about 5:30 for a view of Napali coast. Butler service ok-we did not use him much. The balcony is a nice size and nice for relaxing.
