I have reviewed this ship several times, as we take this cruise every year, but I think that an update is in order as this is trip was after the recent dry dock. Overall the ship looked great. Nicer décor throughout, including the cabins and suites. Service was good, no complaints. I have Roel, our concierge to thank for seeing to that. I found that the service at the pool was better than recent years and our room steward was terrific. We had a problem with butler service, due to no fault of the cruise line, and we wound up with 4 different butlers although Roel took care of that problem as well. He was the hero of our trip.

We booked last minute so didn't get our usual Family Suite with Balcony, but got a Penthouse with Large Balcony instead. Although nicely furnished, it was just too small for our tastes (it is just the two of us). This is not NCL fault, but we would not book this penthouse again. We are already booked for next year, but in an Owner's Suite. Having more space, a Butler and the perks of a suite are great. We are also Platinum members and that adds some additional perks. All that adds to the ambiance of the cruise.

All that positive feedback being said, there were some things that just did not measure up. They brought forth new menu's in all the restaurants the week of our cruise. Unfortunately, it was not an improvement. We only ate in our two favorite restaurants (Le Bistro & Cagney's) for the whole cruise after hearing that the food in the free restaurants was not very good (served slow and cold). Well, we found the same thing in Le Bistro, where the upcharge should guarantee good service and quality. Portions were miniscule and overall it was a big disappointment. Cagney's remains a good choice as the service, quality and menu is still excellent. Another complaint is you can no longer get lobster in the upscale restaurants, for any price. You can only get lobster in the free restaurants for an additional cost and hearing about the quality and service there discouraged us from trying it. They even changed the venue for lunch for the suite guest. It is now in Moderno, and the menu has changed as well and is not quite as good. Read more
