Planned the vacation last minute due to work schedules. NCL had a decent price and offered two complementary packages (beverage/specialty restaurants) which was great. For the price I was pleased with the ship. Embarkation and disembarkation process went smooth. Cabin staff was very friendly, Marlon when we saw him always asked if we needed anything. Bar staff on the pool deck was fantastic, especially a young man from Peru (forgot his name but not his country of origin - go figure). The staff overall was friendly, however, the Cafe staff needs more training on greeting and smiling along with more of them. Now in fairness many of the trailers weren't to pleasant either. Many were very rude and showed no manners, by cutting the lines or I guess not knowing what a line is.

Went to three of the specialty restaurants, the Steak house and Moderno were fine, Moderno's staff was terrific. However, the Italian restaurant was not great, and the staff while not bad wasn't attentive. There were many families with children and I gather because it's vacation time bed times were extended, it was midnight and toddlers and under 10 were still running around. Didn't see many teenagers but I believe they were all in the teen disco which is great. The shows were minimal in comparison to other cruises I've taken. Shows were not all done each day and reservation was a must but when you got there people still made their way in. Staff tried to control but as I stated earlier some of the cruisers didn't know how to follow rules and be polite. The music groups in the bars were good, however some had the same repertoire and after a few times of listening to them you knew which songs they were going to sing/play. Overall we enjoyed the cruise and the ports visited and I would have no problem sailing with NCL again.

P.S. Ports visited were great, did all tours independently by researching on Cruise Critic & Trip Advisor. Did one with NCL and that was the worst. The guide wasn't engaging and seemed uninterested. Used Barcelona Day Trip, ItalyTours.EU (Pompeii, Sorrento & Positano) & Share A Shore Excursion (Florence/Pisa). For Marseille we took the shuttle provided by NCL ($15/person) and then did a tour to Notre Dame and around the town. Lastly, don't be afraid to book the tours independently, you'll save money and the local companies get you back in time.

Cabin Review

Large Balcony

Cabin B6

Room needs some minor repair. Laminate under the mini bar has come off. Not to keen in the way the bathroom/shower is setup. Both are right in the room, no door to separate them from the room. Sink is right in front of the bed. Putting that aside, it's a typical cruise ship room. Not a lot of space but you don't spend that much time in the room anyway. Pretty good storage space (closet & drawers), Additional drawers under the couch. Nice size balcony.

Port Reviews

Naples

Wow, what a site to see. Pompeii was amazing. The archeological findings are unbelievable.

Naples

Positano is beautiful, what a beautiful town and cliff side. The views are amazing!

Naples

Sorrento was wonderful, great walking, views and food.

Barcelona

Still wondering how the monks were able to build the monastery in the mountains so high above sea level. A real treasure to see.

Marseille

Nothing much to say other than the transfer to the town was fine but a bit expensive. $15/per person to take you from the ship to downtown Marseille (approx 15 minutes). Took the Les petits trains de Marseille around town and to the Notre Dame Garde de la Church. Overall surprised that I liked Marseille based on articles read that said it was a seedy port. While there was a section that we passed where gypsy's lived outside with lots of garbage all around and tents hung up overall there is much change in this city.
