The Eurodam's refurbishment has transformed it's cabins to the most beautiful and comfortable accommodation we've ever seen aboard a cruise ship.(we were in a Neptune Suite cabin 7051)
My wife and I were in Europe for a Seabourn cruise that was only a week long and we cast about for another cruise that we could do to extend our time in Europe (it's a huge waste of money to go the expense of flying to Europe and returning after only one week - you are barely over jet lag). We found a cruise aboard the Eurodam leaving from Venice a few days after we disembarked from the Sojourn. We booked a Neptune suite adjacent to the concierge lounge.
We cruise once or twice a year. Over the past several years we’ve sailed almost exclusively aboard Seabourn. Our first cruise experience was aboard HALs Statendam nearly twenty years ago and we’ve had many subsequent vacations aboard HAL ships (including those where we’ve brought our extended family in the top level suites, as well).
The most comfortable suite cabin I've ever seen aboard a cruise ship. The refurbishment has brought the suites at this level into the modern era with subtle muted colors and very comfortable furniture. There were no Plastic cushions on the couch - all replaced with upscale fabric - the older HAL ships still have plastic furniture cushions - not what you expect when you book a cabin at this level.
Venice is a beautiful city. Arriving and departing from by either rail or the airport is a disaster . The airport is completely UNPREPARED to accommodate the influx of literally thousands of cruise ship passengers who embark and disembark at the same time. Worst airport experience we've ever had and we were in the SHORT first class lines at the airport.
