This is the second Bermuda cruise on NCL Dawn. Last cruise on her was July 2015 before the extensive dry dock. Overall we enjoyed the cruise very much. This cruise was originally planned for my niece, her husband and their 8 year old son and me, with two adjoining balcony cabins. Her husband herniated a couple of discs about two weeks before the cruise, we were very lucky to be able to substitute her sister, so it was primarily a ladies group with a kid. They were all first time cruisers.

We got to Boston Cruiseport later than planned because of traffic tie ups on the Mass. Turnpike, so the first wave had already boarded (around 12:30). We were still able to get a decent parking spot in the surface lot and the terminal was not crowded. We checked in, were able to board immediately, and were having lunch in the Venetian a few minutes after 1 PM.

Dawn looked very nice - my one negative comment about the decor is the what they did with the art in the Venetian, really ugly! Stardust Theater looks very pretty, specialty restaurants are attractive. I like the new location of Moderno - nice view while dining. The rooms have been refreshed; two of the group have some back issues and we all agreed the beds were most comfortable. Unfortunately, the plumbing issues on Dawn still have not been totally corrected. Restrooms outside the buffet, Aqua and the casino had one stall marked out of order during our week, and our cabins #9026 and 9028 had unflushable toilets for a very short time one day. When we reported it, we were told it was an "area" issue and they were working on it. When we came back later, the problem was taken care of and we had no more problems. This was not an issue that ruined our cruise, just a little blip.

Cabin Review

Cabin Balcony

Had a problem with plumbing one day, but it was repaired promptly. The cabin was attractive, steward was attentive and kept the room immaculate. Beds were very comfortable.
