In all honesty, the BEST thing by far about the cruise was their guest speaker, Brett Nixon. He is a career researcher who was on the Solstice as a collaboration to share his knowledge and research of Alaska & its wildlife through various presentations throughout the cruise. One of the coolest things was having him give a live commentary via the TV in your cabin as the ship cruised through Tracy Arm Fjord. His enthusiasm and charisma regarding each subject matter was inspirational and really drew the audience into his talks. I have to say that he ABSOLUTELY was the best thing offered on this particular cruise on the Celebrity Solstice!

As for the cruise & the ship, it was very good and mostly as I expected with Celebrity. A few pros & cons to note for those with the patience to read on:

Cabin Review

Deluxe Veranda 2C

Cabin 2C

This balcony cabin was perfect for a group of 4! The view from this cabin is NOT really obstructed unless you count not being able to see beyond the floor of your balcony as the lifeboat is located slightly below the floor level of the balcony. Also, if you are taking pictures of people on the balcony, the lifeboat below may creep slightly into your pictures. It can sleep 1 couple & 2 teens comfortably. There are 2 twin beds that can pushed together as a King bed; a sofa bed - which is a mattress place on top of the twin sofa; and a pull down twin bunk. During the day, the twin bunk was stowed but we still had 3 beds available for naps. The arrangement of the room was very good with great storage area in the closet, overhead cabinets and drawers. There was also a tiny table area next to the tv that could be used as a make up area, writing desk, etc. The bathroom had decent storage area for toiletries and towels for 4. The shower was small WITHOUT being claustrophobic. The cabin felt pretty roomy even with 4 people. I highly recommend this room if you are looking for a reasonably priced balcony for your Alaska trip!

Seattle

We've visited Seattle before but ofcourse, it's always nice to go to Pike's Place Market.
