The Ship:

This ship is beautiful. It's decorated in a modern chic way. The chairs in all areas are very comfortable. The ships Captain also let us know what was going on and what weather to expect. Super friendly service all throughout. A very large library with lots of travel books to check out. A Glass blowing demonstration that was fun to watch.

I have two disappointments with this Cruise line which will most likely make me not choose Celebrity and/or Royal Caribbean as my first choice when picking a cruise.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Veranda 2D

Cabin 2D

The Cabin: We had a balcony cabin, and it was plenty big for the two of us. I would say it was longer and more narrow than other Balcony rooms on other ships. There was also a long couch about 7 to 8 feet. Which was nice to use. We did have to time who would use the small walking path, just so we didn't keep running into each other while unpacking or getting ready etc. The Balcony itself was larger than other cruise ships. We last sailed on Princess earlier in the year and the balcony was half the size of the Celebrity balcony.

Port Reviews

Seattle

Ketchikan; was the biggest city of all the Alaskan towns we went to. It's also the best place to pick up souvenirs. Many of the stores are just right there next to the cruise ship terminal. The Salmon Market is a great place to pick up a variety of canned Salmon. Salmon is packaged in Ketchikan, so it's as fresh as you can get. I purchased my favorite King Salmon, canned and smoked and jerked. They offer discounts if you buy more.

There were sales all throughout the shops as it is close to the end of the selling season, so very well made jackets and coats were on sale for $19.95.

We did a nature hike on our own with Wild Wolf Tours and it was fabulous!

Juneau; was just gorgeous. We did our excursion with the cruise ship. We saw the beautiful Mendenhall Glacier as well as seeing Salmon swimming the stream there right next to the parking lot, and also bald eagles. And we also went Whale Watching, and the Whales were out and giving us a show. Shopping was also plentiful in Juneau prior to going back to the ship. I purchased a beautiful Leather Jacket at a women's clothing store on Franklin street called Boheme. Cute clothing designs, wish I had more time to shop there.

Skagway; was such a cute Western looking town. We shopped there first thing in the morning, because believe it or not the stores were open at 7:30 am and our Iditarod Sled Dog excursion wasn't till Noon. The Quilt shop had some gorgeous Fabric art pieces, and a store away from there The Local Jeweler store had beautiful custom creative jewelry. I bought a silver ring that was made into a twisted artful leaf, and it was reasonably priced. A husband and wife team run the shop

and the husband is the creator of the jewelry. The Dog sled excursion was so Amazing and we got to see the dogs do their thing and interact with them and hold puppies. We also saw where the Gold Rush took place on a bus tour, which I preferred to the train, as the bus stopped at scenic stops where we could get out and take it in and take photos. The Bus driver was a great tour guide was well. Very funny!
