I wanted to see the Mediterranean & even though the itinerary was amazing, the ship is less than desirable. Even though there was a major renovation done less than a year ago, the cabins had broken pieces of wood in them & the balconies had chipped paint. Room service is almost obsolete since they are now requiring that you pay $7.95 every time you call them. The "free" breakfast items are always cold & unappealing & sometimes never get delivered. Housekeeping had great personalities but I have gotten much better service from Carnival, Royal Caribbean & Celebrity. Half the time there would be used cups or dishes still sitting in the cabin or cleaning products/items left behind. The food was horribly bland except for in Taste & the Manhattan Room. The free shows were amazing but we didn't pay for any of them after being nickle & dimed the whole time we were there. If you aren't one of the 85% who booked your cruise because of the free Beverage Packages or purchased enough drinks that you were noticed, you definitely got overlooked when the staff walked around taking orders. Outdoor bathrooms by the pool kept going "out of order" & the drink machines & ice makers stayed empty. 2 of our shore excursions were cancelled, so we toured on our own & enjoyed it much better than what they offered. This was my first & last Norwegian cruise!
