Oceania not what it used to be

Sail Date: June 2016
Destination: Mediterranean
Embarkation: Rome (Civitavecchia)
Chose Oceania as been on them 4 times previously. Have noticed some things have changed. Most concerning is that children are now cruising on Oceania. Where parents are inclined to leave children to do their own thing and allow them to dine in Terraces Cafe on their own while parents go off and dine in other places. Children are let to roam freely on the ship without a parent in attendance.

Meals are still excellent including Red Ginger and Tuscan.

There is less attention to detail now and maintenance is below par.

On this cruise there were more anchors at sea than docking at port. This takes up more of your free time getting to and from shore.

On board entertainment by the production company is excellent, but visiting entertainers have not been the best choice. Entertainment now starts at 9.45 pm at night, would prefer an earlier start. On shore tours are quite expensive and do not offer a lot. Be aware which drinks package you choose if going that More way as some guests were caught out. Think there are 3 choices, read what each one includes carefully.

Staff on board are friendly and accommodating. Less
