Nothing but positive reviews! Took the Grand European itinerary. The ship, the crew, the food, the ports, the included tours...all fantastic. Stayed in lowest cabin category possible and it was just fine. Cabin a bit small but an amazing bathroom that easily accommodated two woman and all their "stuff"! Two special dietary needs (a vegetarian and someone gluten free) were beautifully handled. Onboard programs/entertainment was delightful. Loved the personal quiet sets that each passenger had for shore excursions. Made it so easy to hear every word the tour guide had to say. On that note, the local guides that met our groups at each port were very good and knew their stuff. We were lucky and had good weather and rivers that were 100% passable. Never had to do any of the dreaded "ship swaps"! Our cruise director, Meike, was charming, classy and well informed. Tony, the pianist each day, was wonderful. Bar/dining room staff (shoutout to Georgi, Stephen and Laaaaadies-man) was solicitous and made you feel like you were Dining in a 5 star restaurant each day. Housekeeping were right on point (thanks, Nenad!).
One additional thing...we were two girlfriends traveling together. It was a very comfortable situation and we never felt like we were the odd men out!
Again, can't rate our experience high enough. Have booked another Viking cruise in May of 2017. Can't wait!!
A bit small but we were not in there very much. The size of the bathroom and shower was a happy surprise, though! Didn't miss a balcony at all. Used the public areas to sit and enjoy the passing scenery.
