Not a big fan of Norwegian Cruise Lines. This is our second cruise with Norwegian. The Getaway is a fairly new and absolutely beautiful ship, but as with my previous experience with Norwegian, the service is horrendous (with exception of Stanko, one of the bar staff) no one really makes eye contact with you and are not friendly at all. Most employees seemed like they did not want to be there and certainly did not want to help you.

The food was decent in the main dining rooms, but the specialty restaurants were certainly lacking. Ocean Blue was a terrible experience. We went out for a nice quiet meal and there was some type of karaoke competition going on next door. The noise and screaming voices were not what we wanted to hear during our dinner. My food was just okay, while my partner's was just disgusting. Norwegian nickels and dimes you for everything, unlike other cruise lines. You want this, it's 24.99 extra, this will be another $5, this will be another $10.

There activities are certainly lacking too. There was not much going on on the ship. If you want to enjoy the sun or pool, good luck!! There are not enough lounge chairs for all the people and they ones they do have are usually reserved by some hag putting towels on them at 5 am. If you want to enjoy the pool, it will be a tight fit on a hot day. The pool is so tiny and always way over capacity.
