Sirena Review

Lovely relaxing cruise, good food and company. A little short staffed.

We've sailed on Oceania several times before, and we knew what to expect. A very comfortable, relaxed and intimate ambiance with great food and company. Our little cabin was perfectly formed, with brand new fittings and furnishings. The entertainers were (in most cases) better than on previous Oceania cruises. The food throughout the voyage was fantastic. The menu in Red Ginger has improved massively since previous experiences (on Riviera), and the format works better on this ship. The Tuscan Steak restaurant format is a dilution of the Toscana / Polo formats found on other Oceania ships, which were previously our favourites, but no longer. We didn't try Jacques as this was lunchtime-only and we prefer the open air terrace for lunch in good weather.

Housekeeping, as always, was excellent. The only general negative point was that the ship seemed to be a little short on serving staff in the restaurant and bars compared to previous trips. Often the bars only had one person serving. The sommeliers and waiters were all lovely people, but there were not enough of them to cope with peak demand. We twice waited more than 30 minutes for a dining table in the evening. Overall, this cruise did not disappoint, and we look forward to the next time.
