I chose this trip because the port was relatively close to our home. I read the reviews on cruise critic but decided to chance it anyway. I had been on royal Caribbean cruises before and assumed that the service on this ship would be on par. NOT! The problems began when we arrived at Cape Liberty. We got there early in order to book the IFly ride, which was the one thing we did not want to miss, and we couldn't reserve it on line. Despite having booked the trip and having a print out sea pass in my hand, we could not check in because they had "no record" of our reservation. We had to stand on line for 45 minutes while a clerk tried to figure it out. When I asked what the problem was, she merely shrugged her shoulders. Eventually it was "straightened out" or so we thought, and were allowed to board the ship. My husband then waited another 45 minutes on a different line to try to book the IFly ride, just to be told it was sold out when he finally got to the desk. Meanwhile I went to the cabin to pick up our room keys only to see that they had other people's names on them!!! After holding for 20 minutes I finally got Guest Services on the phone, only to be told that they needed to get a supervisor, and that I needed to get on the Guest Services line. I said no, that the supervisor should come to the cabin. Eventually a supervisor did come, but it was the housekeeping supervisor!! Meanwhile my husband got on the guest services line trying to get someone to help us. After about 20 minutes he reached the desk, only to be told that they could not help him. How could no one know how to get us our room keys??? My husband asked for a supervisor and was told no one was available. When my husband said he will not leave until a supervisor came, somehow miraculously one appeared. Eventually we got our room keys, and they "generously" (note the sarcasm) offered us 15% off a future cruise for our troubles which we promptly rejected. Throughout the week the problems continued. The toilet wouldn't flush, the TV was broken, couldn't get on the internet.

On a more general note, the ship always felt over crowded. the food at all the restaurants ranged from poor to average. I rated this 2 stars rather than no stars because the ship itself was beautiful and the servers and room stewards were wonderful. The ship's potential was not realized because of poor management. In the future I will trust the reviews and not consider this ship again until they get their act together.
