We chose Viking because of all that was included in the price as well as the reasonable prices of the extra excursions offered. We loved that every day there was an included excursion. These were led by local tour guides that were knowledgable and really knew the insider information of their communities and history of the areas. Truly enjoyable.
We began our cruise in Basel, which was fortunate as we spent a couple of extra days in Amsterdam. This worked well for us as it was fast paced toward the beginning of the tour with a couple of earlier mornings, but more relaxed toward the end.
The ship was beautiful. We loved the smaller venue of the river cruise. It was clean and bright and despite the cooler and sometimes rainy weather, the atmosphere was always bright and sunny. The main lounge with the windows to view the passing areas were fabulous. Or when the sun finally decided to make an appearance the front veranda and the upper deck were a wonderful place to watch the scenery.

Our cabin was clean and bright. We loved the balcony and sailing in the evening and at night with the sliding glass door open to enjoy the river. The cabin had lots of room to unpack and not see your luggage until you had to repack. Nice bathroom with heated floor. Not spaceous, but comfortable. Really, we just slept and got cleaned up there so it was great! The rest of the ship was so nice, there was not need to hang out in your cabin.
