Our family has been on a number of other cruise lines including Royal Caribbean, Disney Cruises, Princess, Carnival and now Norwegian Getaway. I have to be honest. I still prefer Royal Caribbean. On the plus side for the Norwegian Getaway, I love the eat when you want and dress up or not in the dining rooms was great. O'Shehans is an awesome alternative but the Garden Cafe at dinner was not all that great.

We especially liked the choice of the Unlimited Beverage Package for two and 250 minutes of Internet, which was one of the options of choice when booking. The show in the theatre was wonderful but then all the other large group activities were in the Atrium where folding chairs were brought out for all the events. Not a comfortable setting. The lack of pool space for so many onboard when we have been on larger cruise ships with more pool space and a solarium at no extra charge was disappointing.

At times we were feeling like we are being nickeled and dimed over extra charges for a show or even room service was disheartening, especially since I spent $800 extra dollars to be on this cruise instead of the cancelled Empress cruise. All workers were great on the ship. Our room steward was very thorough and the entertainment staff was super friendly to us. The bars at the pool were awesome, too. Not saying I wouldn't cruise this ship again, but if I have a choice, it will be on a Royal Caribbean.
