This was our third Norwegian cruise and we were looking forward to another great experience. Unfortunately, it was not to be. We found ourselves stuck on the ship with about 1000 college students on Spring Break. Norwegian accommodated them by providing unlimited free liquor. If you are a fan of loud, vulgar language, drunk vomiting young people, and sleepless nights, this is your cruise! Our complaint to Norwegian was answered with a $175 per person credit on a future cruise, and the pithy explanation that "groups" can occur on any cruise at any time of the year. Apparently to Norwegian, a 1000 college students on a 2000 passenger ship, is just a group.
We enjoyed our port excursions (away from the ship), particularly the jeep tour on Grand Bahama island. Our cabin steward Mohammad was excellent. The Buffet was very good, and the lines were never long. Our meals in the Crossing were excellent and served by attentive staffs. I do not believe the crew members were happy about the environment on the ship. We noticed some attempts by crew members to shield older passengers and families with children from the worst of the Spring Break excesses.
We will cruise on Norwegian again. We will never schedule one on or around Spring Break. Once burned is more than enough.
The cabin was fine. We had to work around the lack of power outlets, but we managed.
We got on the ship without incident and headed out to sea.
