I've only been on two cruises in my life, both with NCL. I was very excited for our cruise but I find that it's the ports that I like most. We loved our room steward, Emerson. He took good care of us and was very nice. However, we found that the guest services staff wasn't overly friendly. The evening entertainment was good but I find myself on days at sea a bit bored. Most of us are fine lounging on deck on these days, which we decided we would do but there were not chairs to be found. As there were chairs located in the back of the ship that were stacked and tied, I asked guest services if there was any way we could get more chairs. Their answer was all the chairs available were out. I don't know if the stacked chairs were usable or not, but how disappointing to be unable to find a spot to sit outside on your day at sea.
In the past on NCL, there was food at all hours. Years ago they had a fabulous midnight buffet. Although there was generally plenty of food on our most recent cruise and I don't need a midnight buffet, I did find that I was hungry for a small snack in the late evening and there were very little options to find anything. They help one restaurant open all night with a limited menu but I really just wanted a snack, not a sandwich, etc. I could order room service for the cost of almost $8, but I just wanted something small. Also, with everyone drinking at these hours I would have thought they would have had more snacks available in the evening. When it came time for bingo, I thought that might be a fun activity for our family, but it was around $49 per person. That seems a bit high to me for an afternoon activity. Overall, the cruise was nice but I expected a little more in the way of customer service and options. I was a bit disappointed this time around with NCL and expected more
