The cruise on the Norwegian Jade was the best cruise I have taken so far. I was slightly skeptical before boarding the ship because some of the reviews were shaky. The embarkation process was very smooth, and very fast. We boarded the ship without any obstacle.
The food on the ship was outstanding. Some restaurants were better than others. I would recommend Le Bistro for a fabulous cuisine, and Teppanyaki was outstanding for a presentation while dining. The number of specialty restaurants was remarkable. You could eat french, brazilian, italian, japanese, chinese, sushi and steakhouse. Of course, on nights you don't want to pay for specialty dining, the food at the complementary Grand Pacific dining room is also delicious. You can also eat at the Alomar dining room for free, but it is more cramped and noisy.
The cruise staff made the days exciting with awesome shows in the Starsust Theater, and game shows that are sure to entertain the family. The days at sea were not boring at all. Our cabin steward was extremely friendly. He greeted me by my name, and showed outstanding work ethic and customer service.
The cabin was very clean and in great shape. The beds were very comfortable with fresh clean sheets. The shower was nice because it had a handheld shower head.
The embarkation process was very smooth and efficient. It was the easiest of all cruises I have taken.
The city was not bad, but be prepared to have vendors approaching you. They will be assertive about it. However, the city was fairly nice with lots of neat shops and restaurants.
The city was stunningly beautiful. The foliage was a nice green, and the water a solid light blue. As in Belize city, you have to be tendered, but this time it is a 5 minute ride on the lifeboats. Piece of cake. However, it will be very humid down there, so if you are from dry lands, it will be difficult for you.
