We had a great time on the Brilliance of the Seas. We are mostly Princess cruisers and hadn't been on a Royal Caribbean ship for many years. We've recently moved to the Gulf Coast of Florida, so wanted to try a Tampa cruise.
We dropped the dogs at a kennel and drove to the port. We had made reservations at a close by parking lot, the Parktologist. I had called and asked if they had accessible vans to take us to the port, and they said they did. When we got there, got all of our luggage out of car, put together my scooter and the van came to get us. The van was not accessible. He told us to wait for the next one, we did, it wasn't accessible either. It turned out that they did not have any accessible vans. They said they would refund our charge. It is a big weedy lot, but they have it very well organized. It is half the price of parking in the garage across from the Port.
We ended up using valet parking, which was higher, but definitely worth it for us. My husband was thrilled that we got out of there so fast and were on our way home about twenty minutes after we left the ship.
We did not take an excursion, just wandered around the dockside shops.
