This is not a bashing on the Escape and NCL, but to help those on future cruises. Come with your patience as you will need it! Be prepared to wait for food, a lounge chair, a drink, an elevator and even calling the phone operator...

The ship is gorgeous, clean and the crew did a great job of keeping it clean even after the all night New Years Eve party, but due to it's size, they just didn't plan out how to handle the large number of people on the ship. Small details like trying to talk to the Service Desk with the open atrium and loud music playing - why not put a clear plastic wall around the service desk area so both the desk agents and guest did not have to literally yell at each other to be heard.

My mother used a walker and it was just challenging for her to get anywhere as the 2 banks of elevators ALWAYS had a long line - again, bad planning. If you are handicap, I would not go on this ship - period. You will be miserable. We were a large group that took turns helping my mother so we shared the load.

Room was good - had no problems but then we tend to pack light.

Port Reviews

St. Thomas

Megans Bay and shopping were great. Love this port!

Miami

We did not explore Miami. Boarded the ship here. Boarding took a while so plan to use the restroom before the boarding process.

Tortola

Port shops were still under construction but we hopped into a taxi bus and rode over to Brewers Bay - DON'T go to Garden cove bay - way too many people!

We had the drivers stop at a small shop, bought some snacks and beers, and we had a great time on the beach. Bring your own snorkeling gear as it is a primitive beach. they do have chairs for rent though.

Nassau

Dirty, loud and a very long walk to get anywhere. way too many hawkers and pushy sellers. went right back to the boat and enjoyed the time on the boat with much fewer people!
