There were 5 in our party (yes, one was a single and had to pay double) and we're in our 60s. We have cruised on NCL, RCCL, and CCL before. For cleanliness, style, service, and FOOD this was by far the best cruise we have ever taken.

We were met at the airport by a Princess representative which surprised us since we didn't book air travel through them. However, we did book a transfer to the hotel (Doubletree) and then to the ship the next day. The ride from the airport to the hotel was on the regular free shuttle, but from the hotel to the ship was in a bathroom equipped tour bus. We arrived early and went through the lines quickly. There was a wait after check-in before boarding, but it was organized and fast. We did have to schlep our carry-on baggage for awhile, but were in our cabins before lunch.

We had an extended balcony cabin next door to our single cruiser. Rudolfo, the steward, kindly opened the door between our balconies so we could go back and forth without entering the passageway. The cabin was nicely set up with the singles together into a queen bed. The mattresses weren't the best, but were adequate. All the regular amenities were present. However the hair dryer was in the living area by the desk which I guess did second duty as a vanity. One nice touch was the fridge on had a big bottle of water in it, not all those annoying little liquor and wine bottles and snacks. There were two chairs: one a desk chair and one sort of a lounge chair. On the patio were two chairs with foot stools and a table. We really only used the balcony in Tracy Arm Fjord because it was fairly chilly and damp outside. Still, I wouldn't be without a balcony if I had a choice. The extended balcony was easily twice as big as a regular balcony. Our cabin was Caribe (deck 10) 604.

Cabin Extended Balcony

Adequate, well appointed, small shower.

Port Reviews

Juneau

fabulous, lots of humpback whales breaching, waving fins, and flapping tails. A highlight!

Skagway

boarded train on the pier, old fashioned, good staff, lots of great scenery both up and down the mountain. Bathrooms and free bottled water.

Victoria

This was at night limiting viewing and was just OK.

Seattle

We had a Princess transfer, were met at the airport, had a good hotel, and tour bus to the ship next day.
