My husband and I are going on the Danube Waltz in November, the Christmas Markets! This will be our second Viking river cruise! We are in our late 40’s, and love to travel to Europe. This cruise is on one of the longships, in a veranda room...so excited about the free upgrade, thank you Viking! Our first Viking River Cruise was Paris to Normandy, on the Neptune. We loved everything about it. We took my parents with us, we stayed in a category: Deluxe B room, we had windows that opened and a spectacular view. My mom is of French decent and my dad is a huge history buff, they have never traveled out of the USA. Staying in a floating hotel was great for them, as first time travelers. The convenience of that alone made the trip seamless and enjoyable. The well organized tours and the small ship atmosphere made them feel like travel pros. We booked our air travel through Viking for the convenient airport transport. To this day, they still talk about how wonderful this trip was. They had the time of their lives! They even made friends with fellow travelers and still communicate via email. The food was incredible; the tours were interesting, well planned and informative. The dining staff and Chef Sebastian were so welcoming and accommodating! All the people we met on the trip were wonderful. We went in March and luckily we had great weather. The sights were amazing; Normandy will move you to tears. There is so much beauty and history there...just fantastic. We love Viking and we can't wait until November!
