The pre-cruise land package of Ireland was definitely a plus. Enjoyed the itinerary, hotels and meeting passengers before the cruise. The Royal Princess has a larger Piazza area which provides better seating and viewing of the many activities. In order to open this area the promenade deck was eliminated. I like the openness of the center of the ship. The center stairs to the upper levels are also missing. A new category of "deluxe balcony" offers a smaller version of the minisuite with a five foot couch vs the minisuite eight foot couch.

Some of the deluxe balconies have a larger outside balcony near the forward of the ship. The British Isles itinerary is port intensive! The Military Tattoo in Edinburgh was a highlight of this particular sailing date. Prior planning of shore excursions is helpful in order to not miss the many sites and prevent disappointment. We enjoy meeting different people, so we choose any time dining. We have always been able to be seated upon arrival because we are willing to share. The Royal, Regal and R3 are a new larger class of Princess Cruise Ships.

We know what to expect, so we have not been disappointed. However, the shore excursions pricing does seem to be very expensive. I would like to see Princess negotiate better pricing with the shore excursions options.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Balcony

Cabin DZ

Has a five foot couch. The balcony is larger as it is on an angle towards to front of the ship. The balcony is stated as obstructed because the railing is solid, not see through. The side panels are larger because of the size of the area. I like the extra wind break as I can enjoy being outside more.
