This was my first ever cruise (and now probably my last). I had heard so many great things about cruises. I just recently retired. And I thought it was time to try one...Maybe with all the mental images I had, my expectations were too great?
The food was the biggest detriment. I envisioned a lavish Las Vegas style buffet featuring a wide assortment of quality choices available around the clock. What I got was a typical food court setting that you would find in your local shopping mall. Serving stations featuring long lines of people. Many of the stations featured duplicate food choices. And those choices were not good.....A lot of fried, greasy, and salty food. Then, you had to find a place to sit. Good luck with that! My first lunch on the ship, I walked completely around the entire deck seeking out just one available seat. I was not successful. I ended up eating my lunch standing! And forget about eating after 11 pm. Everything closed down except for the pizza place.
The sit down dinners were better. But, inconsistent. There were several meals served that were edible...But, not great. I was rather upset that there are two restaurants on the ship that serve good quality food. But, you are charged $35 more to eat there!!
Forget about getting a sea breeze! The balcony door opens and closes. Does not slide...There is a sign in the room telling you not to prop the door open. Windy conditions may cause damage and you will be liable!!
