Hello, First time member review. I am a Logistics company CEO and many years ago worked directly for a cruise line as a superintendent for company vessels. Cruising is not what it was twenty years ago, unless you travel on Regent, Seabourn or similar, which is where we prefer to cruise. What amazes me, is how people book on NCL, Princess or similar, but expect to be treated like they are on a private yacht! I don't want to get into all the details of the ship and port as I don't really see the need to run a day by day diary, just the facts.
We arrived from Seattle Alaska Airlines (1st class) and stayed overnight at the Hilton arriving the next day at the terminal at 1130hrs. As we were AB category, we were able to by-pass the lines to concierge check-in. It was quick and effortless and in our penthouse within 20minutes. The shore staff do a really great job.
The cabin was well appointed and our butler introduced himself and showed us the cabin features, we're pretty self sufficient so we had little contact with him during the cruise. He always checked in, but we didn't require any services of him. The cabin cleaning during the cruise, left alot to be desired...only the very basics are taken care of, although the pillow animals are a nice touch each night. Again, I don't blame he stewards, they are simply overworked and don't have the time to do "all the corners".
