We left the ship in Rome after 36 days on a ship riddled with respiratory illness.
The ship itself was well maintained and comfortable. That's where the good news ends.
Health - A high percentage of the passengers, like ourselves, succumbed to a highly infectious respiratory illness which lasted for the entire cruise. The medical staff were tantamount to useless. The supply of medicine was virtually non existent, to the extent that hundreds of passengers were forced to obtain appropriate medicines at various ports of call. Passengers were charged 80 Euros per visit to the ship's Doctor plus the cost of inadequate medicine by the ship's medical staff. It appeared no attempt had been made to minimise the risk of continuous infection.
The cabin was small but adequate. The curtains were riddled with small holes. The bed was uncomfortable and the pillows terrible. Many passengers went ashore at the first port to purchase pillows.
