This was the 3rd cruise my husband and I have been on. We always travel with a group of friends. My review is also their review. We have always used Royal Caribbean in the past. My husband is 62, a civil engineer and I am 60, a crisis intervention specialist. We live in Minnesota.
We left a day early and spent the night in a Hilton hotel near the port. It was a lovely hotel and we got to the ship quite early. We met our friends and began the long boarding onto the ship. It was awful. We felt like prisoners rather than travelers. The people were very unfriendly! When we did board, we checked out our rooms, ate, did the drill and then checked out the ship.
We had a balcony room and it was very small. If we could have removed the sofa, it would have felt better. The room was however, very clean with lots of closet space and a nice bathroom. The price to have laundry done was also very good. Our room attendant seemed very unhappy with his job. We only saw him a few times. We asked about having some clothes laundered and he just stared at us. We didn't ask anything again. I think we only saw him twice the entire cruise. The entire ship seemed to be full of unhappy workers. So different than what we were used to. I didn't want to leave our cabinet attendant any tip other than "find another job".
