Make sure to scroll down and read SHORE EXCURSIONS. I think this will be the most helpful for people, but wanted to touch on everything for our review.

THE SHIP - We've been on several Carnival cruises and we were torn as to whether we liked the Legend or the Destiny better. I think the Legend was better and my husband thinks the Destiny. I think that they are so close that either one you'd be happy with. To me, the Legend seems more opulent with its decor. I also liked the layout of the ship better. The one big drawback to the Legend...which we never felt on the Destiny...was the customer service was WAY below par. Their staff seemed as though they just didn't care or were always mad. The exceptions were our dining staff (Roberto from the Philippines was AWESOME, so ask for him if you can and tell him my son, Braxton said hello) and some casino staff.

OUR ROOM - We had an extended balcony cabin which we enjoyed. Our room number was 6273 which we were concerned might be too noisy from foot traffic or elevators, but we never heard ANYTHING. So, this was a GREAT cabin for us! We have always been at the VERY back (aft) of the ship with views from both sides, so being on the right side of the ship we only could see what was on that side and it was fine, but we still prefer the aft where we get to see everything. Also, we had four of us this time, so it was a lot more crowded than we are used to. I think next time we will look into the bigger rooms (suites) because my kids are 8 & 11 and taking up too much room now...we were literally tripping over each other all the time. The bathroom's were fine, just a little small...but fine. We had plenty of closet space because we requested more hangers to double hang our clothes, which helped out a lot. I also brought snap hooks to put our wet bathing suits, etc on the inside of the bathroom door. The cabin steward always wanted to put our bunk bed back into the ceiling everyday (they use a special key to unlock it) & put it down for us at night. This was a pain because my son liked to come back to the room and nap or watch TV and the bunk was his bed and always locked up in the ceiling and his sister DID NOT want him using her bed...you know how that goes! After 3 days, we finally asked our cabin steward to leave it down all the time, which made life much better because we weren't having to always track down our steward once we got back on the ship after a long day of excursions.
