Honestly, Carnival needs to either do a major, deep cleaning and updating of Sensation or take it out of service! I was on The Sensation's sister ship Inspiration last year and it is worlds above The Sensation. Upon stepping on the ship off the gangway the stench of cigarette smoke smell was over-powering! Buffet dining room was so outdated and the ship showed so many scratches and smudges and smears, it was so disappointing, and this did not change for the duration of our trip! Once our cabin was ready we went down to check things out. First of all, the smell of sewage was so overpowering that we went right back up to the lido deck. It made your eyes water. We were told that they were pumping out the system, so we didn't give it much thought after that, until we noticed a more than slight sewage smell was still lingering throughout our trip! The ship also had a damp, musky, mildewy smell in the hallways and elevator areas.

The food was OK, but was no-where near as good as The Inspiration. Flies were all over the food in the Buffet and the workers would just swat them away, not bothering to remove the food that flies were landing on! That is disgusting! Guests were seeing this happen right in front of them and just walking away! If a fly lands on food right in front of guests, REMOVE THE FOOD!

Our cabin was clean, but smelled, and our cabin steward was nice, but did go above and beyond, as Carnival claims. Overall the trip was pretty fun, because we made it fun, but I will not go on The Sensation again!
