Overall I was impressed with my cruise on the Norwegian Epic. This was the first time I had sailed with this cruise line. The cabin was far better than I expected which was a pleasant surprise and I thoroughly enjoyed all the excursions we attended (I went with my partner). Similar to earlier critics I am not impressed by the Casino that fills the middle of the ship especially in the evening when people are smoking. Also I was not impressed to see people gambling on these machines on my way to breakfast in the morning but hey ho ....each to their own.

I have only two complaints about the experience:

1. I have an iphone so it seemed sensible to download the iconcierge app prior to the cruise and also purchase ($7.95) the access to contact my daughter and son-in law who were also sailing with us. This was a complete waste of money. First of all even though my settings told me I was connected to the server for iconcierge when I opened the app to contact my daughter it said I wasn't connected. This happened every time I tried to contact her. Furthermore when I phoned the cabin on the number registered through iconcierge I could hear my daughter speaking but she could not hear me. This experience messed up a couple of our days as we were unable to make contact through this app. In the end we did what presumably most people do and arranged beforehand to meet somewhere each day. However this makes the iconcierge redundant and hence my recommendation not to bother purchasing.

Cabin B2

I was impressed by the cabin as mentioned earlier. Our Steward Wanyan was brilliant, I have absolutely no complaints about the cabin or the service provided.
