We drove to Miami and got to the ship around 1:00 there was a very long line. I asked if there was a handicapped line (my son has CP) and they said yes but only 3 of our party could use it. I stated that 5 of the 7 in my party were minors so I will have to have him stand in the long line. (kids ages 19, 18, 14, 14 14) The gentleman then had us all move to the priority line. We were checked in and on the boat 20 minutes later. We headed up to the Taste for lunch. it was very good. then to the muster drill at 3:30 that did not take long. then we were off and running. my ID on my suitcase fell off, it was 8pm before I received my bag. that was a little stressful. next time I will take a carry on bag :)

This was the first time we did freestyle and did not have a set time for dinner. The service is slower, however keeping in mind that feeding every one at once will go faster than trying to feed all those people on a different schedule. We were usually in the dining room for 60-90 minutes. We enjoy that time with our kids so it was not a problem. Staff was always very friendly.

We cruised on NCL 25 years ago on our first cruise. this was our 14th cruise, 2nd on NCL One of my 14 year olds stated "I am never going on Carnival again"!! the kids really liked the food and the freestyle cruising. We ate in the Taste restaurant every night. We were there before 7 and never had to wait for a table. The food was very good. They did not have a lobster night which was disappointing. There are more bars and restaurants than anything else. We did not see a library or game room (we like to play cards) We did use the bowling ally once. We did the water slides 1st day at sea. it was very difficult to get a chair in the sun as people put towels on them all day...... Blue man group was outstanding, legends was good and second city funny too. I was able to pre book these free events and I am glad I did, they booked up and there were a lot of people on stand by. Howl at the moon was neat to see too. There is a big screen TV at the pool at the back of the ship that showed movies and the NFL games. The boys really enjoyed that. we couldn't get a seat so we went to the sport deck by the basketball court with our bucket of beer and watched from up there.

Cabin Review

Family Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin M4

we had booked 2 veranda rooms and 1 inside cabin. when they had a black Friday sale my husband called to get onboard credit and instead we were bumped up to 2 veranda family suites (13th floor)and 1 veranda room. (8th floor)the rooms are very small, thank God we had a "suite" as that was still very small. it would be difficult with 4 in a room. the rooms were clean, lots of storage and very quiet. i could not hear the phone ring in the cabin next to me as I can on other ships. We were just off the elevators and 2 floors down from the buffet and pool. we took the stairs most of the time, unless we were headed down to the 5th floor. we read a lot of complaints about the bathrooms. it was not so bad. having a curtain did help. we had a bathtub which was very nice. the stall for the toilet is small and there is not a lot of moving around room to and from the balcony. the beds are curved and if you are over 5'8" your feet will hang off the bed. the bed was also very firm (too firm for me)
