Having sailed on the Niew Amsterdam last year doing the W. Caribbean - we decided to do the Eurodam and it's E. Caribbean itinerary. Embarkation was slow, compared to last year. We arrived at the port at 1 PM and were surprised to see the long lines. Thankfully we were only in line for about an hour. This cruise was for us to unwind and relax, so we did not partake in the activities that were on the ship. I rented a Retreat Cabana for the week - the best money spent! Both pools were quite crowded - so it was nice to have our own peaceful spot in the cabana. The service provided by Jayson and Ivan in the Retreat was top notch. We dined in all three specialty restaurants, one night each, and enjoyed each of our dinners. The two dinners we had in the MDR were quite good. The Dive-In is quite a hit on the ship. Quick efficient service and the burgers and dogs are very good. After a late excursion in Puerto Rico - we found the Lido Buffet to be a good option - the food was good and hot. I did observe that the Lido closes earlier that their "daily program" states; so if you get there at 8 PM, expect some stations to be closing up. We did not take in much of the entertainment on this cruise - most nights we would go to the Piano Bar or check out the BB King Blues Club - if it wasn't too late. We enjoyed these venues. Disembarkation was very smooth and the Fort Laurderdale post cruise tour was worthwhile, rather than sitting at the airport for several hours.

Cabin Review

Superior Verandah Suite

Cabin SS

While 6055 is an excellent cabin for it's location on the ship and it's size - the cabin itself is showing some wear. These are things that can easily be addressed in the next dry dock. We had scuffed/stained furniture and walls. The furnishings on the veranda were also showing their wear as well. The tables were both stained, which I believe had to do with salt water. This is why I did not give the cabin 5-6 stars. Other than that, the cabin is immaculate and I appreciated the space in the cabin. The bathroom was fantastic with two sinks, a shower and a tub/shower!
