We have done 6 cruises -- 4 MSC , which we loved , and I Emerald Princess at CHRISTMAS two years ago where we found the beef always tough and 200 walked off with Norwalk Virus . We did like the pools and fish meals on Princess plus the Promenade deck. In four cruises on MSC we never had a bad meal and the beef was Always tender . Their ships lack the Promenade Deck, but the ships are always shining and the entertainment was incredible!!Sadly, it only has 1 large ship now in the Caribbean . I am giving you this background of our experiences to tell you all the ways we loved Norwegian Pearl, our sixth cruise, as compared to these other lines!! We hoped to find a line that would offer more choices in the Caribbean, but provide most of the things we enjoyed on the other cruises .We are Canadian seniors from Toronto and need the sun in the cold months. We are active and still working . Many of our friends do Norwegian repeatedly and some are high up in other lines - Oceania etc.but always return to Norwegian ! They convinced us to try it!

I was a little nervous that it might be too casual . What we found is that it is all things to all people!!! If you want casual you eat in the Indigo , but if you want the most beautiful , elegant dining room you could ever imagine , then you eat in The Summer Palace. My husband did bring a suit but my friend's husband didn't ! Mine says "No suit next time!" We never once ate in the extra cost dining rooms . No need !!! The food was so wonderful in the main dining rooms, grills, Blue Lagoon etc. The beef was so tender that you could cut it with your fork , tender, large portions , and one night we had Prime Rib that was a very high end cut and half an inch thick!! The salmon steak was again perfection -- tender, well cooked but not dry! The turkey dinner on the American thanksgiving was like home made but even better!! The desserts were total temptation as were the soups!! To us , good food is a huge part of an enjoyable vacation , and Norwegian excelled in that area.( Now I will add that for Italian food , you cannot beat an Italian cruise line. )Therefore , the food on Norwegian makes us want to go back plus the beauty of the ship!

The ship shines everywhere! It is clean clean clean!! This is very important to us and Norwegian is proactive at preventing illness. They not only have the hand sanitizing machines but a person at the door to spray your hands" Washy , Washy, Happy , Happy," They make sure of disinfection of people's' hands!! The ship glistens and in the corners too. One night I saw the crew cleaning the hall carpets. No wonder the ship looks so fresh ! They are always on top of the cleaning .
