We were on the Glory for the Western Caribbean cruise the week before Easter. There were lots of school kids on the cruise, which should be expected during a Spring Break week. We contributed to the kids numbers since we brought our five grandchildren and their parents on the cruise with us. Overall, the cruise was not bad and not great. To wit:

After studying the Cruise Critic reviews about the quality of the food on the Glory, I was, frankly, prepared for a bad food week. Fortunately, I was pleasantly surprised. Gone were the new requirements for pre-plated entrees with a carnival selected sides. We were able to choose our entrees and any sides from the menu. The individual choice of apptezers was also back. There was no longer any requirement for only ”family style” appetizers for the whole table. The choice of entrees included chateaubriand, lobster tail and filet mignon. The chateaubriand was as good and tender as any I have ever tasted. (And My wife assures me that I am a very picky eater)

We always select anytime dining when we cruise. On the third night we discovered a waiter by the name of Yudi. He was very efficient, funny, and took great care of the children. Others were not so lucky. Some friends of ours on the cruise who are platinum Carnival cruisers waited over two hours to be served and finally left without their meal. The dining room manager sent them about one-half dozen petit fours the next day, but they were still underwhelmed and hungary.
