This was our tenth cruise. We had cruised on the Triumph almost two years ago and after that cruise had decided we were in no hurry to return to Carnival. I had a Carnival credit and a $200 gift card so we decided to go ahead and give Carnival another try. We had heard good things about The Magic and so we were excited to check her out. Embarkation was really good because we had purchased faster to the fun and didn't have to deal with any lines. Our cabin was ready as soon as we got on so we dropped our luggage off and headed to the buffet for lunch. First thing we noticed was that this ship did not have the usual "Vegas" decor. It was beautiful with pretty blues and turquoise throughout. Very appealing! The buffet was the typical Carnival buffet (and honestly, we have never been Carnival buffet fans). While on our cruise we ate in the MDR's(ok..not great, but not bad), The burrito bar (pretty good!), The Italian restaurant (for lunch it is free!) and it was delicious! We also tried the steak house. Carnival knows how to do steak! We have sailed different lines but have always found the Carnival one to be the very best! The only negative is I wish they would lower the price a little and cut the steak in half...I mean who eats an 18 oz steak? :) We also tried the burgers and they were good. We never tried the pizza. The dining service was absolutely AWESOME throughout the cruise! We were very pleased with our servers and the service!
They were so personable and truly made our experience even better!
Our room was a balcony (different shape than normal) but it was nice and had wonderful storage space. Our room steward kept it clean however he was not very talkative and didn't always follow through with our request. He did the job, just didn't go above the basic.
Our room was great! Extra space with the sideways configuration. The only thing I didn't like is that when the ship would rock some...we did not rock like babies in our bed side to side..it was more like being a salt shaker!
