The crew was wonderful, the Captain was charming, instilled confidence in everyone. After saying that I have to admit that the rest was very disappointing. The ship is old looking - very clean, but old looking. The food - oh, I had dreamed of eating my way across the Atlantic. The food was awful! Disgusting. The portions tiny, the menu items in the one universal restaurant were just weird. Then there was the buffet, which smelled of something - I think curry. Whatever it was it knocks you out when you go through the lines. And the selection here was so very disappointing. A lot of middle eastern food, sushi, spaghetti - again with that rank odor, deserts were one inch squares of cheesecake or chocolate cake and a jar of cookies. Did I mention that overpowering odor??? Horrible.

Then there was the shuttle bus into Agadir. We pulled up to what looked like a building foundation that was cracked and huge. Outside there was a crowd of scary looking men who drove taxis - I guess. No one wanted to leave the bus! One the of the passengers who spoke the local language (we were in Morocco) spoke to the bus driver who said there was a beautiful suk (shopping area) about two miles ahead, but said he was not allowed to take us there. We found out later that there also was a whole area of 5 star hotels in the other direction, about a mile away. He wasn't allowed to take us there either. We were all pretty scared getting off that bus, being surrounded by these creepy guys. Everyone demanded their money back for that shuttle.

It was all just a great disappointment. The ship reached Florence on Monday, when the museum were the statue of David resides is closed on Monday. One thing after another. But the worst was the food. Awful.
