This cabin is in a great location. Very close to elevator and 20 seconds down the stairs gets you to the main dining room. We spent a lot of time choosing a cabin that would have a really nice deck and this one is perfect! The deck is large and the view is ubobstructed. Gorgeous really. We had some concerns about the cabin being close to the elevators, but we never heard any noise at all. Cabin itself is mildly worn but still very comfortable. Bathroom has a tub which makes it seems more roomy than cabins with a shower stall.

This lack of effort to please the passengers was indicative of the level of service at the Explorations coffee bar for the whole cruise
-specialty restaurants are excellent -- so desperate for a decent coffee and could only get it when we ate at the Pinnacle grill where the coffee was excellent and the food and service are perfect--the Pinnacle is worth every penny of the up charge
-fellow passengers that paid for La Cirque were disappointed -- advise caution there
-another reviewer mentioned the constant messages from the "future cruise consultant" who was also the wife of the Captain-- we also found this very strange, I guess nepotism is not an issue with Holland America but we found it a bit odd, especially as the consultant seemed overly familiar when she was on stage speaking with the Captain
-activities on the ship are pretty marginal so if you cruise to be kept busy, this might not be for you
-entertainment was mixed -- the BB King Blues folks, Diane in the piano bar, the ship band and the piano/violin duo were all very, very good but the shows were kind of bleak
-service was good from cabin steward
-service in the dining room was good -- we had the late sitting in the MDR and it was fine -- from what other folks said about "anytime dining" it sounds like there are issues with that
-the atmosphere in the Main Dining Room is a problem -- it is nicely appointed with comfortable chairs and nice linens, but it is so noisy...it seems like the food stations are too close to the tables perhaps-- we found this very distracting and for that reason opted for the Pinnacle Grill a few times just to have a nice atmosphere of quiet fine dining, and of course a decent cup of coffee
-food in the Lido is good and plentiful, seating is good and staff is helpful
-food in the main dining room is very good with a particular facility for soups and sauces -- soups were absolutely excellent
-desserts in general quite ordinary but folks seemed to love the ice cream that was always available
-I can't comment on children's programming except to say that children would be lonely on this cruise -- I think there may have been two children in total on board
Would we book another cruise on the ms Eurodam--probably not.
