We were due to leave Australia after the floods in Europe were well publicised. We continually rang Scenic Tours only to be told that there was no problem as far as they were concerned. The waters were receding and we would be boarding our scheduled cruise (Scenic Crystal) as organised. The Mayor of Prague has requested that tourists not visit his City due to the risk of disease. We informed Scenic of this, but they still said that no cancellation was going to happen and should we cancel no refund would be granted.

On our arrival in Prague (we had 3 nights there), we were informed that the Scenic Crystal would not be available in Budapest, but we would be boarding the same in Vienna. This was not accepted terribly well, but we had no choice.

We then coached around and were accommodated in hotels with no choice for dinners but buffets. On two separate occasions our lunch was at a roadside dinner, once again many complaints were made to no avail. On our arrival in Vienna the Scenic Crystal was not not moored and we were told we would be boarding in Linz. Our hotel in Linz was at best a 3 star and the food was not acceptable to us and others, but again hard luck. Some passengers were accommodated in smoking rooms.

Cabin Review

Balcony on Scenic terribly small. Do not pay extra for the Danube deck and it is very rarely you are in you cabin. Also very small for the price.
