We were a party of three 40-something couples - two "newbies" and my husband and I, our 5th cruise. This was our first on RCL - the others have been Norwegian, Dolphin, Carnival Imagination and Carnival Elation (with our three sons). We are all from the Dallas-Ft. Worth area and we headed out to Galveston the day before just to make sure that we arrived with no problems. We spent the night in a hotel and went to EZ Cruise Parking around 12 p.m. on Sunday. Embarkation was quick - we all did the Set Sail Pass and were on board the ship by 1:30 p.m. Our rooms were ready so we put our stuff in the room and grabbed a quick bite at the Windjammer.

Between the three couples, we all had different rooms for different reasons - one couple had an inside cabin on deck 3 - they thought their room was hard to find and they said it was really dark. That was good for sleeping but they think next time they may have a window. My husband and I had an outside cabin on deck 4 - the room was just what we expected and the big window was nice. The accommodations were great for the two of us. Our other friends had a balcony cabin on deck 7 - they enjoyed that and they loved the location of their room.

We ate all our dinners in the dining room and the food was wonderful. The waiters were superb - Eloy and Alvin. Their service was impeccable and if we had any problem with any food, which was rare, they took care of it immediately. Most of the lunches were at the Windjammer and the food was fine - in our personal opinion, buffet type restaurants are fine but we don't expect gourmet food - it was the right temperature and the selection of fresh fruit was wonderful. My husband and I ate two breakfasts in the dining room and they were wonderful.
