My daughter suggested it. 20 of us family members went. It was a beautiful huge ship. However bigger is not always better. With bigger ships you have more people and longer lines. I found on this cruise that the rudeness factor was also huge and I wasn't the only person who felt that way. You couldn't begin to get into the windjammer in the morning. I feel that this cruise line is moving away from the complimentary dining to the cost restaurants. The staff did not make passengers adhere to rules. For example chairs were reserved on pool deck and kids were allowed in the Solarium. I think that if ship sets these rules then they must make sure they are followed. Now on the positive. My balcony stateroom in Central Park was amazing. This big ship has very nice staterooms. The food in the dining room was amazing and our complimentary lunch at Jamie's was over the top. Not sure I will travel on a mega ship again. It would have to be a great deal that's for sure. Read Less

Cabinet, 1st thing I check, no dispenser w/shower gel, shampoo n conditioner. Hello! !!! Take housekeeping an hrs b4 bring the items that u asked for. N they wouldn’t take the towel from pool side. We have to bring back the pool towel ourself.OMG! The food is just okay, entertainment N activities is the best that I enjoy the most. The ship excursion was pretty good too. Overall is just an okay ship. Maybe I got more pampered by Holland America ship! they spoil me. The elevator take 5-10min to arrived. That’s crazy, I would rather using the stair instead, but I have wheelchairs person that is traveling w/me. No choices I’m stuck w/ elevator. Buffet everyday is almost Same food. Tired on the 3rd days. Not too much of choices to choose. The main dining is just so so. My waiter was a sweetheart. The outside shop is like shopping in the swap shop. The shop in store doesn’t carry like top name brand designers. Who care abt Kate spade. Not sure if I would b back at Harmony cruise. Read Less

As I stated, we had to use a cruise since RC would not refund our money (as diamond members) we had invested into the 9 Sep 17 cruise that got washed out due to hurricane. Overall this was an OK cruise but not great. Breakfast in the dining room was mediocre at best. We never got exactly what we ordered, there was always some exchange or item missing. It appeared as if the wait staff was in its infancy, learning but not too0 fast. When we told one of the lead waiters about it they sent us some special stuff to the cabin, sweets which we did not eat. Overall this ship is built for the young, it is not comfortable, for example the Diamond lounge is in the basement, literally, 4th deck, no windows next to a bar. Service there was good, but the place was gloomy not like on the Allure where the lounge was up on top with glass most of the way around. Would I cruise this ship again, NO, nor any of the same make or style. Would I cruise RC again, NO they ripped me off, for example my certificate was worth more then this cruise, but that money just disappeared. Or, our insurance form the 9 Sep cruise just vanished no refund or anything, the I attempted to add insurance to the 9 Dec cruise, no way I was told it's too late. Sounds like another rip o0ff to me. The ship was amazing, you just cannot believe the size of it, On embarkation is aliitle bit of a joke you are treated like catle, shoved and told where to wait as you go through customs,and wait in the terminal.and then allowed to board in sections,Once on board and get to your cabin, the cabins are all well laid out, clean and roomy, cleaned every day and towels change every day as well.Dinning is an experince the food is amazing in any of the resturants,the downfall is be prepared to wait for long periods to obtain your table and que dispite having prebooked your meal time, this is because of the number of guest 6500 in all, it is very overcrowded so there are ques every where.The enternainment is very good something for everone, and loads of activities. The staff are very good indeed they cannot do anoth for you ,nothing is too much trouble,as too the service it is all good, The lifts too different decks are a real issue again ques for lifts is a joke, you really can use the stairs quicker than waiting for a lift. and getting up and down 16 decks , make sure you are fit, if not you will be.Ports of call are good ,but not there for too long so very restricted on the amount of time and what you can do in port, there is loads of excursions you can go on, ,but they seem to be very expensive for what they are so make sure you check them out before hand.Had a great time and was an experience ,if your 18 to 30 years old you will have a great time plenty of drink and parties.So on this note i am now going to disembark and join the catle que, have a good trip and good luck to all. The ship Harmony of the Seas is too big which is a great thing but comes with its disadvantages as well. Too many people on board causes less attention, restrictions on the restaurant timings, less choice of foods in Buffet (Wind Jammer) comparatively and not freshly cooked food. I booked this ship because it appeared to be kid friendly, but not many choices of food for kids. My son loves Pizza, but pizza was frozen and not as good as other cruise ships. We didn't have convenient of even fill a glass of water after 10 PM for our room. On positive side, I liked the food in Restaurant (Silk), they had lots of options for Appetizers, main course, and desert. The restaurant staffs were very nice and going out of their way to prepare food of your choice. In the cabin, all the movies "On demand" were paid, none of them were complementary which seems to be annoying. There is no option to watch a movie in your leisure time unless you want to spend $11.99 for one move. This was really disappointing!!! Read Less

The Ice show and the Aqua show were not as good as the Oasis and Allure. Headliner was not good! Cruise Director was very good! Grease and Columbus! Were very good! The Dining rooms was the biggest problem! The service was terrible! The food quality,presentation,selection and taste was not good! The supervisor had to jump in often ,because the server was overwhelmed! This really needs to be addressed! The Windjammer food was good, but always had to wait for a table! Having said all that! The ship is beautiful! Lots of things to do! The specialty restaurants are very good! Ship is great for families! As big as this ship is! We always got a deck chair ,and never felt crowded! We had paid for the Ultimate Dining Package and were not able to book our dining venues pre cruise but were told we would be pre booked for the first night at one of the specialty restaurants. Then we would be able to plan the week. At 2 o'clock on the first day we got in line to book our meals. There was no note in our stateroom advising us of our location and time for the first night. After nearly an hour in line with no movement we were told to go to any specialty restaurants and we could book through the maitre 'd. We went to Chops grill and were told that we had no restaurant booked for the first night . Also, we were told that Jamies' was already booked for the week. Let the nightmare begin. After that we struggled every night to book a reservation. Our ocean balcony room was fine and well maintained. The shows were very nice and the performers were very talented. Bingo had automatic tablets available and the games were lively. There was no adult pool, but two adult hot tubs. The casino was busy and the spacing of the tables and machines was adequate. If we had not booked the Ultimate dining package we could have booked the dining we wanted each night pre-cruise. Also, my feelings about the dining experience would not have tinged the entire cruise. Read Less

We never sailed on a mega-ship before and though that we would give the Harmony a try. We sailed with RCL twice in Europe on older ships (the Serenade and the Legends) and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We also sailed a number of times on Celebrity (in the RCL family) and enjoyed those cruises very much. The cruise was originally booked as an Eastern Caribbean itinerary, but due to the devastation in the Eastern Caribbean by Hurricanes Irma and Maria prior to this cruise, RCL had no option but to modify the itinerary to a Western Caribbean cruise. The replaced itinerary was disappointing. It included Nassau, Cozumel and Costa Maya. I couldn’t believe that we would be visiting both Cozumel and Costa Maya. They are essentially the same thing. I wasn’t happy with the updated itinerary, but decent excursions can create fun out of ports that we’ve visited many times. We also purchased a complete beverage package (well worth the money) and a specialty dining package for all 7-nights. The issue with the dining package was that you cannot make your dinner reservations online prior to boarding. You are required to make your reservations on board. After standing in line for about :45 minutes, we were able to make our dinner reservations. Why RCL doesn’t allow package purchasers the option to book online is a mystery. The specialty restaurants were very good. We enjoyed Chops and 120 Central Park very much. We also enjoyed the Japanese restaurant for a great hibachi dinner one night. Jamie’s had great food and we liked it the most during sea days for lunch. Regarding the other dining options; we were very disappointed. The Mexican specialty restaurant, Sabor’s, was not good. We went there for lunch when we boarded and never returned. The buffet for breakfast and lunch was a circus. Far too many people, not enough seating, no omelette station in the buffet - utter bedlam. We tried Johnny Rockets for breakfast because they had omelettes, but it was terrible. We then used the Main Dining Room for breakfasts. They had a decent buffet there and it wasn’t crowded. The pizza at Sorrento’s tasted like warmed up frozen pizza. There is no way that the pizza in that place is homemade. It was a complete disappointment. We enjoy wine tastings and with a ship with about 6,000 people on it not one premium wine tasting filled. Not one! The wine bar, Vintners, is a great venue with fine wines. We couldn’t believe that a minimum of 8 people weren’t interested in fine wine tasting for a very modest fee. This underscored the fact that the ship activities are geared more for children with the Dreamworks characters, the huge water slides, the zip lining, the skating rink, etc. Adult activities were few and far between. The ship has a very good fitness center, salon and spa area. The entertainment on the ship was excellent. The Grease production was fabulous and the outdoor aquatic show was quite entertaining. The comedian was excellent too. Overall, the entertainment on this ship was excellent. Our room was very noisy. We were one deck below the pool deck in a suite and at about 3:00 in the morning the crew was hosing down the pool deck and dragging the chairs over the deck. You could hear every single movement. This ship was not sound-proofed at all. We’ve had rooms below the pool deck on other ships and we never heard a sound. There were plenty of chairs in the pool areas. Getting a seat was not a problem. When the ship docked in Cozumel, it was raining very hard. We had an excursion pre-booked for an ATV ride. The excursion was not cancelled, although Cozumel was an absolute rain-out. RCL made no attempt to work on behalf of the customers who decided not to go out into a monsoon on excursions that should have been cancelled. We stayed on board all day as did most people. The ship staff made no effort to accommodate the vast majority of passengers who remained onboard. They had very few restaurants open. No bars were open. The only lunch option was that horrible buffet and the sub-par Central Park West sandwich/salad place. It is like school lunchroom cafeteria food. Gross. The Main Dining Room was not opened for lunch either. It was one extremely boring day stuck inside to say the least. I liked the photo shop very much. Instead of walking through a hundred feet of photos and trying to find yours, this ship used iPads where you put in your room number and your photos could be selected digitally. That was a great innovation. Great use of technology. The Future Cruise desk was not good. We received quotes on cruises that I was able to pull up online for much cheaper fares. I wasn’t impressed with the overall customer service on the ship. Some of the bartenders had an attitude when we presented our drink package card. They didn’t rush to see if we wanted a refill. And, we added tips. The staff in the specialty restaurants were excellent. Our room steward was excellent too. So, with only three ports on a 7-day cruise with one rained out completely on a ship with very little for adults to do, I would not book a mega-cruise ship again. Frankly, I won’t book RCL out of any American port again. I liked our RCL experiences in Europe very much. I think that they are attempting to make these mega-ships like a Disney ship that focuses more on children’s activities. If that’s their target audience, then they probably nailed it. However, for adult cruisers, I much prefer Holland America, Celebrity and Princess. So, there were some excellent aspects to this cruise coupled with quite a few sub-par issues described above that resulted in the average rating that I scored. Read Less

This was our 18th RC cruise and a disappointment. We made all our shows reservations on line and also purchased the internet package prior to our trip. The ship did not have our show reservations except for Grease and they had us down for the 10:30 show, the reservation was for 8:30. We had to buy the internet pkg again as they did not have that either, lost out on the 20% off. As a result of a very stressful summer, car accident, health & hurricane we were very much looking forward to this cruise and spending our time in the solarium. The solarium is 3 levels, spacious and beautiful with a restaurant and bar. We were very disappointed in RC for not having a pool in the solarium. We have been on the sister ships and the pools are always full, it's hot and you tend to spend a lot of time in them. We cooled off by standing under a spray or stepping in the shower. There are 3 other pools on the ship that were maxed out with children and adults. We were told that there was over 900 children on board and I think I heard everyone of them! One other area the ship needs to change is the coffee shop on the promenade. Move the coffee pots and condiments to an area that is easier to get to. RC will always be our favorite cruise line and we will continue to sail with them. The crew on all there ships is excellent as is the food and service. I am glad I am not a drinker as I feel there drinks are overpriced including the bottles of water. The ship is beautiful, the room had plenty of closet and drawer space and the balcony enough room for the two of us. Our room steward Gusto was amazing he just couldn't do enough for us. We ate in the Windjammer, again great wait staff and good food. One more complaint going out to RC the casino was off limits for me. The cigarette smoke was so bad throughout the whole casino even in the non smoking area. I'm sure that many folks would agree. Read Less

The ship is a lot too big and Royal Caribbean should opt for quality instead of quantity. Once is enough on a ship the size of Harmony, too much hassle at breakfast and lunch for a party of six. Again, there were way too many children on this cruise. We never visited any of the ports we originally booked for and Royal Caribbean was very insensitive in not even offering a dime in compensation, it seems once they got your money you were on your own, take it or leave it. They sure ruined my 50th Wedding Anniversary. After this I will cruise NCL or MSC, I have seen better value for my dollar there. Read Less

We were told by sales personnel on board the Harmony that they were price competitive on jewelry and watches. Don't believe it. You can do much better shopping on line. Cigars and alcohol are great buys. Ports visited were expensive and overly crowded. You would be better off staying on board the ship. I can't make myself book another trip due to these circumstances unless things change. Dinner was a great experience with many different choices each night. Our dinning steward(Jean and assistant Ketot) were great. They had many suggestions which we found,to be excellent choices. We were very disappointed in the ports that Royal Caribbean chose due to the hurricanes but thought they could have made a better choice or given us a choice to rebook a different choice. The worst part of our trip was waking up in Nassau and seeing 5 cruise ships tied up at the dock with 20 thousand people trying to offload. Read Less

We are a couple in our low to mid 50s and went on the Western Caribbean itinerary (Labadee, Falmouth, and Cozumel). This was our 8th cruise and 6th with RCI. Rather than talk about the ship (which is FANTASTIC as most other folks have said), I want to focus this review on areas where things could be improved. The persistent hard sell, poor excursion offering, and mediocre specialty restaurant experience really took away from the overall enjoyment of this cruise. The Hard Sell We signed up for a couples massage with the goal of some relaxation. After the treatment, we were given the hard sell for acupuncture treatments, lotions, oils, and creams by the massage staff. This lasted at least 20 minutes (I know we could have just walked out, but we aren’t like that). There was a real push for the acupuncture treatments (maybe they were undersold for this cruise) and the best line I recall was “you should really try Dr. Soandso, he is from China!” Wow – how do you turn that down? – we did. The whole point of a massage is to relax and these two people were able to destroy any relaxation achieved. We walked out of the area more tense than when we walked in. Are you reading this RCI? I know we must all walk through the sales pitch gauntlet at embarkation, but how about dialing back the sell after a treatment for relaxation? Excursion Problems We went on the “Best of Jamaica” excursion which I hope is not really the best Jamaica has to offer. The first stop was Dunn River falls after about an hour long bus ride. This is a fun little stop where you climb a waterfall that may have been natural at one point but has clearly been artificially modified to make it more accessible for climbing. The problem here was that after arriving, we spent maybe 45 minutes standing in line in the heat waiting for our tour guide to get the tickets. Then once inside, we waited another 30 minutes as people tried to figure out how to use the lockers. So for this water fall experience, we spent maybe 3 hours in total travel and waiting. After the falls, we stopped at an aged resort for lunch where the food quality was absolutely horrible (and we are not that selective, believe me). In addition to the shabby venue and the poor food, there were cats walking around everywhere and one of them actually bit my finger breaking the skin (and I am cat person). At this point I just wanted to go back to the ship, but wait! We must first stop at a remote strip mall for 45 minutes on the way back! Why is this part of the excursion? Is this the best strip mall in all of Jamaica? By the time we got back to the ship it had been over 6 hours for basically a 20 minute waterfall climb, a bad lunch, and shopping at a strip mall. We actually were late getting back to the ship but of course, since this was an RCI excursion, they had to wait. This excursion was so poor, we cancelled an 8-hour excursion we had planned for Cozumel and just ate the cost. In all fairness, RCI is not the only carrier that does this (are you listening Princess?), however, Princess’ activities and lunches are so much better quality and their “out of the way mandatory commerce stop” is usually something vaguely interesting where they show you how something is made and then try to sell it to you. My wife and I stayed on the bus at the strip mall and the tour guide said she didn’t blame us. Specialty Restaurant After many hard sell attempts by the Harmony staff for the dinner package we acquiesced and had a dinner at Chops Grille for a $100 upcharge (so apparently we are part of the problem!). The venue is very nice but we were seated along a row of 2 person tables that were separated by no more than 8 inches leaving absolutely no privacy for conversation. For $100 on top of the cruise cost, I would have expected a little privacy. The food was good (not exceptional) but the service was excellent. Everything Else The ship was great – plenty to do, great performers, good cruise director, the interior room we had was good size with lots of closet and drawer space. The staff was very friendly and our room steward was like a cleaning ninja – we never saw him but he cleaned our room twice a day. The food was generally better here than on other RCI ships we have been on and they did have a Lobster night, a chocolate dessert buffet one night in Windjammer that was incredible, and lox (smoked salmon) available in plain sight every morning in multiple venues (for a while RCI would only offer this on request). Will we sail RCI again? Of course! But now we are a little wiser and will probably seek out independent excursion providers in the future. Read Less

This is my 4th cruise with Royal Caribbean. I love the brand. I love knowing my way around each ship. I've been on the Navigator, Oasis, Allure and now Harmony. I was excited about the Harmony, because it was the BIGGEST, and I assumed that meant that they had made it better in some way. Nope. It's just bigger. 6,000+ guests and 2,000+ crew, but without more amenities, space or offerings. I spent more money expecting to get more, and the only thing which had increased was the size of the group. So, my 3 star rating is because, overall, I do like Royal Caribbean, but I will NEVER seek after their latest & greatest ships again! It's all hype! We had an oceanview balcony room, and it was wonderful, and our stateroom attendant was very attentive. The ship was very clean, though I'll admit I was disappointed to have maintenance men PAINTING the poles in the Solarium at 2pm in the afternoon! That place is enclosed, and the fumes were building up. (Couldn't they do their painting in the evening, or at least when it's likely to be empty?) I thought that Grease was AMAZING, as was the FINE LINE (the aqua show). I always love the ice shows, but I was disappointed at the poorly planned "1887". The title was misleading. Great logo and set... nothing else about it made sense. Likewise, "Columbus, the Musical" was really dumb. Well performed (by the cast of Grease), because they are amazing, but a really dumb show, honestly! The headliner, Adam Cariu (Kariu?), a comic juggler was outstanding, and the comedians (host & headliner) were also quite good!! So here is one of my biggest concerns... Royal Caribbean goes out of its way to build the biggest ships, to bring in the best talent, and then when it comes to the offerings for kids, they have lowered their standards! One of our favorite activities on cruising days is the face painting and balloons, and it used to be AMAZING! But now they are cutting corners, and they force their poor entertainment staff members to try to do a skill which probably takes a long time to master. The girls were sweet. I believe they were the same ones who scanned our cards when we entered the Royal Theater. If you wouldn't have those same girls perform in GREASE, then you shouldn't have them trying to paint faces and twist balloons. Seriously! Bring back the PROFESSIONALS! Kids deserve great, interactive entertainment too... not just babysitters. The kids, of course, wouldn't complain, but as parents, we all noticed, and it was embarrassingly bad!! (Not the staff's fault, by the way. They did their best.) The food in the dining room has degraded (not to mention that it's also available in the Windjammer). I remember when eating in the dining room was an exquisite experience. It used to reflect FINE dining, but not anymore. The choices were bland, and the servers were a bit on the arrogant side (as though we were in a nice restaurant... except we weren't.) By day 3, we were done, and we stayed away from the dining room. The Windjammer food was amazing! Their staff was attentive and friendly. The mongolian BBQ (stirfry on site based on what you want) was a family favorite of ours. I love the selection. I had Indian food for lunch and dinner each day that I wanted it! Can't beat that!!! :o) On Sunday (we left on Saturday), we went for breakfast at the Windjammer at 9:30am and were told they were closed, because there were too many people and not enough tables. Seriously???? This is what I mean about a ship which is bigger, but not better. I saw plenty of empty tables, but unbussed tables. Yes, they had space, but not enough staff to keep up with our group. To RC's credit, I shared my concern and when it finally reached the right person, I felt very heard. I believe that Royal Caribbean has a great emphasis on customer service and attentiveness. I don't believe that the people who thought it was a good idea to shove 8,000 of us on a single ship cares about the fact that lines were long and things ran out, so my feedback probably won't make a difference. (Nor do they care about children, or they wouldn't cut corners on their interactive kids activities!) Stay away from the art auctions. Do your research. Park West isn't doing you any favors. By the way... if you don't already know this... DON'T attend the Fitness Center/Spa workshops. 100% of them are infomercials for products and services you can find on your own. What a waste of time! Chose this cruise to experience the Harmony of the seas. The destination of the ship changed from Eastern Carib to Western Carib due to hurricanes wiping out our original ports of call. The ship is very, very long. 17 decks is no problem so long as the elevators are working and partially full. With 6027 passengers on board the elevators were mostly full. The on-board shops are the same as other RCI ships, maybe a bit more expensive. Everything is a hard sell and turns off most, except for the treasure hunters at the $10 junk give away on the center isle.The shows were excellent without exception. Getting on and off the ship was well orchestrated and courteous. The European cabin staff were dour and inattentive and provided only the required actions to maintain the cabins. I missed the fun surprises the Island cabin stewards provided on previous cruises. The new guys don't play games, just clean, and not very well at that either. I did enjoy the perks of Star Class and the Coastal Kitchen access. I'll choose a smaller ship next time, I'm getting to old to walk that much. Read Less

I like the amenities on the Oasis class ships. There is always a lot to do. The Harmony is very large and expect that you will walk a lot. Embarkation was very quick. We were on a little before 11:00. The cabin was a good size. The con was that this area is very noisy even throughout the night. If you are a deep sleeper or a late partier this will be fine. If you are a light sleeper it is not a good choice. These rooms include the soda package as well as a meal at Johnny Rockets for up to 4 people. I did go to Chefs table and was disappointed that the menu has not changed in the last year. It is great but I would like to try other foods. The wine tastings at Vintages are excellent. I had gone to Chops on a previous cruise and it was excellent. This time it was not good so I was disappointed. Wonderland is a very unique experience and a must try at least once. The main dining room had excellent service but the food was good one day but not the next. The rooms were kept very clean and attendants were always available and helpful without being intrusive. The fitness center is very large and I never had trouble using the elliptical of treadmill. I love the walking track as long as it is not too humid. The Casino is smoky even though I think one side is supposed to be smoke free ? The machines did not seem to pay too well. The shows are repeats so I did not go see them again. The comedy show was new so that was a good show to see. The Diamond Lounge is very nice but depending on the amount of Diamonds etc onboard we were overflowed into Jazz on 4. The concierge (Mohammed) for the Diamond Lounge was amazing. He was so helpful with issues and always made time for us. Read Less

We chose this cruise because we usually cruise with Royal caribbean and were very excited to try this new ship. The ship is beautiful and very similar to the Oasis. But, the Oasis, which we've cruised with several times before, offers much better service than the Harmony. Not sure why. But, clearly staff need to step up their game. The food quality and variety need to be improved. Service overall can be better. The focus on the Harmony of the Seas seems to be more on selling stuff than offering great service and good quality food and entertainment. The itinerary was changed because of bad weather. We boarded the ship in Fort lauderdale for 7 days, one week after hurricane Irma and with Maria still looming over the caribbean. Instead of Labadee, Porto Rico and one of the USVI's, we ended up in Cozumel, Costa Maya and Nassau, three places I have been to so many times in prior cruises that I did not bother leaving the ship in neither location. That was understandable but still messed up. Harmony is such an amazing ship. I hate to not rating it 5 stars, overall. But, service and food quality were very disappointing. Maybe, I should just blame the whole thing on Irma and Maria. After all, they were two very nasty and dirty visitors from the atlantic ocean. Read Less

My husband and I chose this cruise for the itinerary, which was of course changed due to hurricanes. However, the port substitutions were poor. There is very little to do in Costa Maya- not a fair exchange for what I paid for. The ship was miserably overcrowded. Bigger is not always better. The food was bland, and you saw the same meals rehashed night after night. I felt like cattle on this cruise. The lady at excursions had no knowledge of the excursions I had questions about or even the port itself, Nassau. I was under the impression, given what I'd read, they were experts there to help you make informed decisions. I booked a rainbow reef snorkel, and it was a beautiful coral reef, however the operator was barely passable. They have very old, worn snorkel gear. The vests we had to wear were moldy, and they run out of large fins before they got to my husband. Since the gear is part of what we paid for, this is not acceptable. My mask would not seal and leaked water causing me to waste the first 10-15 minutes(of 1 hour) before finally being given a new mask. The staff on the ship, with the exception of my room stewardess and the spa staff, were less friendly than other cruises I have been on. The up sales have gotten ridiculous! You are getting less and less unless you are willing to cough up more money. Grease was wonderful!, but the fine line was a letdown. Overall, not everything I hoped it would be. Read Less

I understand that RCL cannot control natural disasters, however, I was switched to Western Caribbean without any recourse. That is not what I paid for. I would not have booked a cruise to the Western Caribbean as I have already been there. RCL should have offered me choices of an on board credit for the difference, a on board credit off a future cruise, or the option to cancel and use the monies paid toward a different cruise. They offered nothing! Very disappointing. I feel like I overpaid for a cruise I did not want! I am going to look into other cruise lines. The ship was beautiful and the staff were friendly, attentive and always willing to help. The food was mediocre. It was often served cold or undercooked in all of the eating places we frequented except for the specialty restaurants, which we did not frequent, as they were grossly overpriced. We had to send something back at every meal. The lobster was tasteless and not cooked properly. One was almost raw. We had to send the escargot back several times as it was cold. The servers Dajana and Anna were great. We requested them and dined at their station several times. The entertainment was exceptional. The entertainers put on great shows and really worked hard. The organization on the ship was very good. Even though there over 6000 people aboard, it never felt that way. Getting on and off was very organized and easy. Surprised! We chose this cruise 2 days before departure as we had lost power from Irma and were tired f the rough living conditions. I had tried to book a suite on NCL but noe were available. I really like the Haven and the outstanding service you get in the Haven. If you are looking for a great cruise ship with a balcony or interior room, then I would say go for it. The boat is beautiful and has so much to do on board. It never once felt crowded. A day at sea was as fun as a day at a port. Unlike other ships, there was always a deck chair to be found on days at sea. My only complaint for this t was not enough drink servers anywhere on the boat. In the past, RCCL cruises had staff always asking us if we wanted drinks. ON this boat they clearly did not staff it like that. Most of us would just go up to the bar. My complain with the suites is you do not get the top shelf service to match the very high price you are paying for it. At check in the person checking us in did not know the answers to any of my questions about concierge locations, etc. He explained he was new....This is who you have checking in your premium paying passengers?!? When we got on and went to the suites lounge, they were closed as they were filming a Netflix series. There was no one at the blocked doors to call for our concierge, or help us as our room was in the name of another passenger and no way to fix it. I don't pay all the money for a larger room. I pay it so I do not have to do things like stand in a guest services line that is a mile long. So while everyone is booking their restaurants for the week, the suite guests either had to go stand in line at guest services or jot, with no help or advice. How simple would it have been to place the concierges in the hallway by the suite lounge to explain to everyone why the restaurant and lounge they had paid a premium for was not available. Later in the day my stateroom attendant located the concierge and he was outstanding, they both were. If you get Jeremias or Checker as your concierges, homerun...these guys get it and are both outstanding. The rest of the cruise was smooth sailing, ports were fun, a ton to do on the ship. It really is a beautiful boat and so large to never feel crowded but simple to get around on. The only complain about the ship as a whole was the lack of drink service staff. When you charge people close to $500 for a drink package, you had better make it far easier for them to actually get the drink. Other than the casino, I almost always had to go to the bar. As I said, other than the suites the boat would have been perfect. However Norwiegan is far superior with the suite experience and from now on I think we will stick to that line for future cruises unles RCCL gets their act together and realizes that those of us that pay a premium for outstanding service had better receive it or we will go elsewhere as there are better choices available. This ship feels pretty underwhelming compared to the Allure of the Seas. We really missed the pool on the Solarium which is non-existent on the Harmony. It was a nice and quiet place for adults to take a dip in cool waters in the summer heat. The slides for me felt like an unnecessary addition and not a substitute for the missing features from the Allure. The staff in this ship feels inexperienced and sometimes they lack information or get confused trying to solve a problem. Nothing to do with the seamless experience aboard the Allure of the Seas. In general the Harmony felt like a much lower quality ship even though is newer in the fleet. The cabin was pretty much the standard Oasis class layout, nothing special to say about it. Entertainment and activities were very good as in all Royal Caribbean cruises, as were the Shore Excursions. The food on this ship didn't feel up to the quality of the other Oasis class ships. even the same dish would not taste as good.I guess maybe the chefs are not as good as in the Allure. We had some bad experiences with some service staff. Some employees were a bit rude, although most provided very good service. The room attendant was always rushing us to get out of the room for her to clean. In our third night a bottle of wine we had kept from a previous night went missing. The previous night the waiter seemed pretty busy and flustered and told us we could leave and he would put the bottle away later on. Either he forgot, or some kids from a table close by stole it, but the bottle disappeared. Fortunately they have some real good employees there, as was our Head Waiter, Denis. He took care of the problem and got us another bottle, and from that night on he made sure that he would personally check on us each night to make sure we were having a good time and had no complaints. He went above and beyond any expectations of good service! Now onto Royal Caribbean in general: I think they are doing a really good job taking care of their customers. I would definitely keep my loyalty with them for the near future even if I won't sail again on the Harmony of the Seas. Not only have they always provided me with very good service overall, but this last cruise proved they really care for their clients and have very good corporate social responsibility in a time when companies only care about their bottom line. We were due to return to Florida just as Hurricane Irma hit. First of all, the crew and company made sure we were safe and well away from the storm, making the cruise longer to stay away from the storm. They also negotiated extra stops in different ports so that we wouldn't be out to sea so long and they could also resupply. Furthermore, they provided a couple of hours every day of free internet so that people could check on family back home and reschedule any flights as needed. They also discounted 50% the internet package, the beverage package, laundry, and other services on board for the extra days of the sailing. Once we were finally able to get back to port, they also offered anyone wanting to stay for the next short (4 days) cruise, a pretty good rate on the cabins (good option if you had to wait for a flight out, without having to deal with overbooked hotels due to hurricane). Today I also found in my inbox and email they sent after the sailing to all passengers offering help to move them to an unaffected location if they were stranded in the airports of South Florida without being able to find a flight or hotel. They also sent relief on several of their ships going to the Caribbean. This is WAY more than many other companies would have done even in worse situations. They really set an example. They are proof that good business also goes hand in hand with Customer Service and Social Responsibility. Read Less

I was very concerned that the entire entertainment staff were all white or European. The passengers were of all races. It was very obvious this ship did not care about racial diversity. Allure and Oasis were very diverse in that regard. I personally did not get a good feeling concerning this ship. I will still sail with Royal Carribean, but never on Harmony. The food and service in the dining room was poor quality. I had my time dinning. Windjammer food was great. On this ship emphasis was always put on HOW MANY people were on the ship, however to me I felt let we were like cattle. Previously with other sailing I felt a connection to the staff. On this cruise it was strange, because I felt everything was about buying and selling. Embarkation and disembarkation were great. I always bought alcohol to bring home, this ship had such a low selection so I did not buy any this time. Also on this ship saw only one person offering to take pictures. Previous sailing photographers were everywhere and I always bought photos. This time no photographer ask to take my family's picture. Maybe we were not white or European enough. At any rate spent less money on this ship than on any cruise I have ever taken doubt if I spent 50.00 took 6,000 to spend. Maybe it was all for the best. Read Less

Chops the steak was tough like leather. I had to send my food back twice and the next night was Jamie's which was even worst. I had to ask for a refund. If you like quality food this is not the cruise for you. Overall the staff and service is amazing. The desserts are about the only thing on this ship that was great. The cabin i thought was an ok size. Shower was bigger than expected. The ice show Fine line was great and the production on Grease was amazing. Crew was helpful and friendly at all times. The breakfast buffet in American Icon was good. Starbucks was good. Overall this ship is great for families with kids. Read Less

We expected the experience on the Harmony to be similar (maybe a little better) than the Allure ship we sailed two years prior. Although there were a couple more things to do (wet and dry slides for instance), we noticed a lesser experience with corners cut such as quality of food at Windjammer, the amount of live music, and even the bed wasn't comfortable. There were problems with the production electronics that cancelled shows the first three days which made it so we couldn't see all shows that we expected to see. There was also a mix-up in where the wine tasting event was (compared to where it was advertised to be) and we missed this. When there were issues, it seemed that nobody felt the need to apologize for the trouble. The pool area, wait staff, and room attendant were great and the food in the main dining room was also quite good. But, by the time all the the the separate costs were added together, it was pretty expensive for what I feel we received - expected more value for the money spent. Bottom line: we've been Royal Caribbean loyalists, but are now open to looking at other cruise companies. Read Less

We decided to vacation on the Harmony of the Seas, due to the size of ship and we wanted to try R/C, we had previously sailed with other cruise lines (5 cruises). However, we were extremely disappointed with the regular dining and upgraded restaurants, the food was dry and tasteless, upgraded restaurants were overpriced for average food that wasn't anything special. The drinks were overpriced and very weak (and we aren't even big drinkers). Communication was poor, there was a problem with some of the show productions and shows were cancelled for the first 3 or 4 days and no effort was made to accommodate for the inconvenience. The service (staff) on the ship was far below service compared to other cruise lines we have traveled with before. The ship was beautiful, but the onboard experience was not good, we didn't feel like the staff was interested in pleasing the passengers, R/C should stop trying to build oversized ships and focus on the onboard experience. However avoid room 10454 as it has an adjoining door in the room and the noise level ruined our cruise. All crew were dedicated and friendly.shows, excursions,food in all the restaurants was varied and really nice. Getting on and off the ship was quite quick even though the ship was huge. Embarkation was smooth and quick disembarkation was slower but still alright. The choice of shows was excellent and grease was fabulous. The aqua show was amazing and we were never short of things to do. The choise of bars were great and all the bar staff came round continually to serve you. Overall fabulous but my rating is 3 simply because of the room. upon returning home i have read reviews about adjoining rooms and when we complained about the noise level they should have tried to muffle the sound as they must be aware that this was the problem however quiet the people next door were being.
