I like to cruise and I choose Princess Cruise to provide a grade "10" holiday The crew was excellent they went beyond the call of duty to serve us. we met many new friends and exchanged cruise stories. the ship was clean and constantly being restored. The washroom needs to be updated in terms of being for more friendly and easier to use. The shows were good although there was some repetition. This showed budgetary restraints on the part of Princess. Movies under the Stars was fun as always. Food quality and menus were very good. The ports of call were very exciting and entertaining. It was a good, cool, comfortable, exciting, fun, and reasonably priced cruise. we will definitely do a princess cruise again, hopefully soon. Thank you crew, staff and management for a good cruise. Continue the good work. Read Less

We chose this cruise for it's itinerary. It started on February 15th with a 3 day cruise from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur and back, and then a second cruise from Singapore to Kota Kinabalu, 2 stops in Vietnam & 2 stops in Thailand, then back to Singapore for a total of 13 days. The ship is very nice and the crew is awesome. Our flights were arranged through Princess and were very good flights. We got a transfer from the airport to the cruise terminal through Princess. Embarkation was very quick and easy in Singapore. We had a Mini-suite on deck 9. Our cabin steward Catherine was great and made sure we were well taken care of. Room service most every morning was very punctual. Our dining experience was really good. We did the buffet a few times, but mostly we ate in the Savoy Dining Room and requested Alexander and Katherine as they were just so much fun and very good at what they do. We went to a couple of the shows in the theater and they were very good. We ate at Sabatini's once and the food was as expected, very good! We had very ample time in the ports to get to our shore excursions. There were a couple ports where the cruise line arranged for transportation from the ship to the gates as we were very far away. We arranged tours in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore Kota Kinabalu and Koh Samui though private tours and our disembarkation tour through Princess. We would definitely go on Princess again. Read Less

We are a couple in our early forties and chose this cruise for two reasons. Firstly, we had taken a cruise with P&O two years ago which was particularly average. Secondly, we felt that Princess did not actively encourage children due to its lack of giant water slides and variety of kids' clubs. We do like children, but prefer a relaxing holiday in the company of adults - and this opinion was shared by many passengers that we socialised with. We were not disappointed! The demographic was predominantly adults 35-70. The ship was clean, well appointed and the staff were just fantastic. We booked a mini-suite which was spotlessly clean and spacious. There was a great choice of bars and entertainment throughout the cruise and our shore excursions were efficient and represented good value. It is worth noting that the James Bond Islands tour involves almost a four hour return bus journey and the K.L. city journey is not short either. We probably would not have booked those tours had we known the travel time. The best part of this cruise was the staff. They went out of their way to be friendly and share a joke or two. The ship is so clean and well maintained with plenty to do. The drinks package is definitely good value and there is a huge variety of included cocktails to choose from. The bed and pillows were just divine! We will absolutely sail with Princess from now on and are already looking for our next destination! Read Less

So just finished the Sapphire Princess starting from Singapore for a five night cruise. So this was my Fifth cruise so think i am in a position to start giving my views. So a few things. 1) No Broadway shows, very surprised. Yes they had a few things in the theatre but no big show. 2) The staff looked tired. My first cruise where i can not even remember a member of staff name. 3) The buffet area was a massive let down. so small compared to others i have been on. 4) Good things- Movies under the stars, love the concept 5) None alcohol drinks package well worth the price. 6) No towel animals made up in the evening. Now considering that princess is meant to be a five star ship i must admit that this cruise has not left me running back to book a new cruise with Princess Read Less

Had never cruised before and wanted to guarantee hot weather in February. We booked a suite (B104 - Mallorca Suite), which turned out very nice indeed. The suite comprised a lounge, a bedroom and a bathroom which had a bath with shower above, rather than a stand-up shower, which worked out better for us. There was lots of room in all of the rooms and there were no issues with storage, as there were plenty of hangers provided (too many). As part of the suite deal, you get upgraded linen and towels, which at the time of booking, I didn't really value. However, the difference from the linen provided in other rooms was very apparent - the towels were brilliant, thick and luscious and there were plenty of them, to the point where we didn't use at least half of them each day. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in, with marvellous pillows and duvet. The extended balcony space was brilliant, as it provided for a dining table and four chairs, along with full length recliners. Being at the front of the ship, directly beneath the bridge, I was concerned that things could get windy, though in reality, it was only every too windy on one evening, but even then, closing the connecting door and staying in the part with the table and chairs was perfectly fine. Our room attendant, Lemuel, was brilliant and remembered our names each time we saw him. He couldn't do enough for us. The decor of the ship is a little dated and there are places, particularly in the public spaces, where it's really showing it's age. The bars are well stocked and the food is of a very high standard, though my only caveat to that is that ll of the restaurants have the exact same menu, which is a pity, as I had kind of expected that each did it's own cuisine. We had Anytime Dining, meaning that we could attend any of the restaurants or buffets at any time, rather than having to stick to defined dining times. Having a suite entitled us to club class service in each of the restaurants, which guaranteed us a window seat and provided us with an extra choice of main course, not that we took advantage of that. We made use of the main buffet area at lunch time, as this provided the most diverse choice of dishes. It was run very efficiently and was kept constantly clean by the very attentive staff. As suite users, we got to eat breakfast in Sabatini's each morning. This was brilliant as the staff were friendly and attentive, plus it meant that we didn't have to go to the buffet area and join the mad scramble for seats. The food was always very fresh and piping hot. Sadly, the same could not be said when we booked a place there for Valentine's night dinner. The menu choices were terrible for me, as I don't eat seafood, so it was disappointing that two of the options for mains were fish based. The steak I had wasn't that great and I left it. The staff asked if I wanted anything else and were concerned that I hadn't eaten my meal, but what's the point of eating on your own when your wife has finished hers? She had one of the fish dishes, but said it was very average and didn't match the standard of the other restaurants we ate at for free. It was a waste of $19 surcharge each. Having the pre-paid drinks package proved worthwhile and decent value, but I found out that it doesn't mean unlimited drinks - on occasion, I noted that he bar staff only requested my card instead of both of our cards, which led to me being charged for two extra drinks, which were removed by customer services staff when I queried it. We didn't make use of the gym or much use of the pools, but whenever we walked past, there always seemed to be loungers available. We visited The Sanctuary at one point, but at a $20 surcharge per person, we didn't stay because we couldn't see the value. Directly beneath is a nice quiet pool with loungers and that suited us fine for an afternoon. The entertainment was a real disappointment, because other people we know who regularly go on cruises, suggested that this would be a highlight of the trip. It wasn't. I say this with two exceptions: 1) The Mr & Mrs Quiz was very funny and well presented. 2) We heard from others that the Stevie Wonder tribute was very good, but we never got to see it. The rest was bland and uninteresting. We did two shore excursions, one to the Buddhist temples and another to the elephant ride in Phuket. Both were via the ship's own excursions and neither felt particularly special or very good value. We felt uncomfortable with the elephant ride excursion, because we believed it to be an elephant sanctuary. I doubt that a sanctuary would make elephants stand on their front two legs! We soon regretted having attended this particular trip for this reason. Getting onto the ship at the start of the trip was a breeze - not because we had priority boarding, but because I misread the instructions and mistook the sailing time for the boarding time, only realising the error an hour before! We got on with 20 minutes to spare, but at least there were no queues! Disembarkation at the end of the cruise was a bit more frantic, We chose a later time as we were going to our hotel in Singapore immediately afterwards and wouldn't have been able to check in early. Everything is fine until the part where you go looking for your cases in a huge hall, with no help from the ship's staff. It was like being deserted because we were no longer spending money with them, but maybe that was partly down to our own unfamiliarity with the cruising experience. Read Less

A great crew and entertainment group, made this one of the best cruises we have taken. There was plenty to do on Sea Days and the food was very good. They did have some of the same items a few times, but very good. The ships entertainment was very good, the people they brought on, could have been better. All our ports were what we expected and we took some very good Princess Tours. Would go again, nice mid size ship. The pizza is one of the best of any cruise lines and is open all the time. Buffet was good and there was always a place to sit. Movies at sea are always fun and the cruise had most of the latest films out. The cabin steward was very good, worked with our odd schedule. The embarkation was quite easy and getting off again quite effortless. If you want a good cabin go with the mini suite. Read Less

I was surprised that I had a great time on this cruise, even though I was told by friends that the average age of guest on the Princess would be 65+ (I’m 38). The entertainment was fantastic, great shows every night and never the same, they also have outdoor movie sessions at night, great service from staff, variety of food choices from buffet to fine dining. The Princess also had art gallery exhibition which also included art auction. My tip is that make sure you buy a drink package bacuse the cost is in US dollars. We were a party of 8, and the gym on the Princess is better then most hotels! Shopping was average, the ship has 2 outdoor pools and 1 indoor pool. Day spa and treatments were great but pricey, best time to book day spa treatment is the day they have shore excursions as the prices drop. The casino was always busy. Didn’t like the shore excursion, would of rather stayed on the boat! Read Less

Cruise was chosen to celebrate my birthday. In overall, we like it because of awesome weather. However, if you are looking for great entertainment and food, you are on wrong cruise. It was OK. Food had very limited choices and to the day 12 it was very much repetitive. Entertainment is very weak. Two good were marriage match and production shows. Other than that it was literary nothing to do on ship. But due to great weather we didn't care and spend our days around swimming pools. Also, it was constant smell of sewage around some area of the ship included main pool. Even so ship was very clean. Overall, we liked our trip but only because of good itinerary and weather. If I could get the same itinerary on Celebrity I would switch instantly. I should mention free Zumba classes. It was awesome to start a day! Our cabin attendant was awesome too Read Less

We chose this cruise due to the ports of call and the countries this cruise took us. Overall the cruise was fantastic and we really enjoyed ourselves on the Sapphire Princess. The shore excursions were a bit hit and miss with some very good, some average and one very poor due to the lack of English the tour guide knew. He was a tad lazy and repeated himself with different information several times during the tour. All other tour guides were great and informed us of the important things. Take some currency with you for the different counties you visit. I changed over some before we went and this was more than enough for us. You can also take US Dollars but make sure you take small notes. You can change over on the ship but beware the exchange rate is nowhere near what you can get on shore. Embarkation was very smooth and quick as was the disembarkation process. We had anytime dining for this cruise and found it very good at the restaurants that we used. Other meals we had on deck 14 with a range of foods both hot and cold. The waiters in this area work very hard to let you enjoy your meals. They are very friendly and very quick to have a table ready for guests after you have finished. The wife and I renewed our marriage vows on this cruise on Valentines Day but was very disappointing that no photographers where present to take any pictures after the event. Room was very well set out with enough room for both of us. Bed was very comfortable. Just remember there are no USB charging points in the cabin so if you are not from the USA take a power adapter with you. Ladies there is a hairdryer but it is near the desk and not in the bathroom. Guys it is very noisy. Room is kept tidy by a steward and the chocolates are a nice touch when they fold back the bed for you when you are out at night. Beware the drinks package only lasts for the 7 or 5 days not the full 12 Days that you may have booked. This is the same with the photo packs and other packages that are offered. The Princess@sea app is vert handy and is kept up to date to let you track your spending's as everything is in US dollars. The only problem we had was that our passports where not delivered to our stateroom on the night before disembarkation and the wife remembered them at 2:30 am in the morning. They both were at the service desk and picked up. Maybe a card should have been left on the bed informing us on where they were being held. I have passed this onto Princess Cruises via their feedback form. As I have stated at the start of this review we were very happy with this cruise and even with a couple of hiccups it was a great time even if the ship broke down in Vietnam we still got back to Singapore on time. Of all the princess cruises I’ve been to, this ranks one of the lowest. The food was mediocre. Service mediocre. Tour excursion disappointing. We booked the phi phi island excursion ahead of time because of the famous maya bay. We were told that it’s closed and the excursion will stop at Bamboo island instead. We cancelled that excursion and booked James Bond island tour instead. Found out that they substituted the buffet lunch with box lunch. The box lunch comprised of a tiny cold burrito (yuk), an apple (not sure if it’s washed) and orange (dry and tasteless). The chip was the only thing that tasted ok. We found out they changed to box lunch more than two years. Princess continues to advertise as buffet lunch. James island was beautiful. But the bus and long tail boat ride to get there was more than 3 hours each way. I was feeling light headed by the time we were there. Excursion in Ko Samui Peace Resort was nice and relaxing. Actuhad a buffet lunch. Taste of Penang was on. The only thing I recommend to buy is the coffee. I wish I bought more. My major complaint about this cruise is the visa fee that princess charge each person. $56 whether you get off in Vietnam or not. That’s a rip off. Vietnam charges less than $10, princess kept the rest. Other cruise lines don’t rip off their customers like that. We didn’t know when we booked the no refundable cruise. Only found out when we log in to provide personal info. By then it’s too late. The one thing I highly recommend is the Zumba and ballet dance classes. Rachel was great! Read Less
