We did 2 perfect cruises in Europe with RCC but the Behama cruise was not good. 8:00 in the morning all the chairs at the pools were taken by bleu towels. Policy RCC: The reserving of deck chairs is not permitted. Items left unattended on deck chairs for more than 30 minutes may be claimed at the towel stand. (shield on all the pools). We have seen a family of 4 with 8 towels taking 4 chairs in the shade and 4 in the sun. When complaining...RCC personel did not react. Even people put there towels before they made an excursion. Formal dinner evening. Policy: No shorts or slippers are alowed. First man in the line had schort and slippers to go in te main dining room. No problem, nobody said anything. Policy? None. Food in the dining room not so refined as in europ. 5 of 10 items returned nearly everyday. Mash patato was part of a lot of dishes. In comparison with the cruises we did with RCC in europ was this a bad experience with a lot of undiciplined Americans and there children loading up mass food, take a few bytes and left the rest. I was ashamed in there place. Imaging what the Indian staff must think. In there country are still people starving. In my opinion RCC is going backwords in not holding on to there own policy and except everyting from ther guest as long as it brings money everyting seems to be allowed. Taking drinks in the pool? No problem. Drinks in the jacusi? No problem. Shorts with formal dining? No problem. I don't think we wil choose RCC ever again. Read Less

I have wanted to go on a Royal Caribbean Cruise for many, many years. I was extremely disappointed and had much higher expectations especially with Royal Caribbean. My biggest disappointment is with the food. I imagined it was going to be much better than Carnival (in which I said I would never travel with again) since the prices are so much higher and I have heard good reviews from friends. We traveled with a family of 7 and booked two rooms but part of a family reunion which was part of a bigger group of 30 guest in total. We wanted to dine together therefore most of us preferred to use the buffet Windjammer to accommodate our large group for breakfast & lunch and the big dinning room for dinner. The buffet food was repetitious from day one in which we got tired and lost interest in it by day 3. Dinner was better but not by a long stretch. There also wasn't much options for those seeking a healthier meal therefore leading to a lot of G.I/stomach issues throughout the week. The thoughts I had of indulging in some seafood while on vacation became just a fantasy. However we was very impressed by our service/staff who extended themselves to please all of us (including our children who was the most difficult). Louis, Sallyann and Ravenraj specifically not only displayed professional service but their kindness, passion and even love they provided us added to our vacation and great memories. We looked forward in seeing them on a daily basis. The Mystery Dinner Hubby and I had alone as a date night (Wedding Anniversary) was also over priced and again disappointed with food. Limited menu options and we both didnt care for our food. We both left hungry since we practically ate anything but had no where else we could go to have a meal we would enjoy. Ahmad provided the service to our rooms, he did a fantastic job making sure he cleaned after us several times through out the day regardless of the challenges our boys would leave behind. Although looking under the bed and behind the night tables in search of a missing toy we was surprised on how must dust was found, it made us wonder if that contribute to the constant sneezing our boys had that clearly only took place when inside our cabin? Upon arrival my in laws had no working A.S, the fridge was hot (upsetting since important meds needed to be quickly refrigerated after being out so long boarding the ship. and there was workers fixing the bathroom that made it uncomfortable in the tight space. The issue was resolved later that day. The ship itself was old, and very out dated compared to what is usually advertised therefore not what we expected. We found musty smell in many different parts of the ship. The shows were great, my personal favorite was "Love and Marriage" (hysterical), hubby & in laws enjoyed the casino (smaller than they expected). Our boys loved the kids club (especially Gaga ball) Mini Gulf, and the Water Slides. Ice cream/ Artic Zone was everyone's favorite! Seating was always challenging to obtain by the pool (with our towels & chairs taken often by other guest causing conflict on a few occasions). The massage was ok, not a lot of techniques used other than pressure and circular oil rub. I have received much better but also a lot worse. It was pricey therefore I refused to have anyone spent any additional money there even when offered to me as a treat for a mediocre massage. The day we got to Coco Cay was a complete nightmare! The long waiting, the insane line's and tension with guest arguing with each other to exit off the ship was ridiculous, completely unorganized, and made me wonder how the staff could handle an emergency (not a good feeling at all). It was brutally hot on the island and we made the mistake of setting up at the further end of the beach that had no drinks, nor food nearby. My 9 year old over heated within the first hour and nearly passed out. I had to seek assistance from the life guard for transportation to get him hydrated but took nearly 20 min under the sun with no shade to finally get someone to drive over. Luckily he recovered once we got him into the shade and hydrated. My in laws had to sit inside the Tiki bar for the remaining of our stay to stay cool. Father in law got attacked by the seagulls when he attempted to bring food over to my diabetic mother in law who was too tired & hot to walk any more. No staff to help. As for the food, I was looking forward to something different to eat but instead got dogs, burgers, ribs and the same food type from the ships buffet. Very, very disappointing! To add to our list of our not so good experience, we got charges for drinks despite using our prepaid drink packages! Speaking of charges our bill/charges at the end was disgusting when it appeared to have multiple charges made by error and we was expected to pay for the WiFi package that only worked for a portion of the time. The trip to Atlantis Bahamas was a lot better without any hiccups. We did our best to make the most of this trip with all of our family & friends and create special memories (especially with having to deal with the recent life altering events made when our son was diagnosed with leukemia). This is why I gave this survey this rating.. After this experience, I believe we are done with Cruising (Well we may plan a Disney Cruise if possible, at the request of our son).I will not recommend anyone to go to Adventure by the Sea, but having the port nearby was convenient. My wife and our adult daughter sailed on Adventure of the Seas on July 6 to the Bahamas. This cruise was our birthday gift to our daughter, who had never been on a cruise before. My wife and I have been sailing almost exclusively over the years with Celebrity. We gave our daughter the choice of a Celebrity cruise to Bermuda or a Royal Caribbean cruise to the Bahamas. Both were for one week and both were on older ships. Our daughter chose the Royal Caribbean cruise because of the itinerary. She and my wife shared a balcony cabin. Some observations, courtesy of my wife: 1. The public restrooms were filthy. There were no attendants to clean them during daylight hours. The bathroom floors on the pool deck were wet, slippery and dangerous. 2. Hand sanitizers which should be ubiquitous on all cruise ships were no where to be found. Sinks at the entrance to the Windjammer buffet restaurant were not used by all passengers. My wife had to actually ask for hand sanitizers and she was told on one occasion that none were available. 3. Overheated passengers returning to the ship from shore were not offered cold face towels or cold drinks to refresh themselves, and of course, no hand sanitizers were on display. Clearly, cleanliness was not a priority on this ship. 4. My wife described the vaunted on-board entertainment, allegedly a Royal Caribbean strength, as nothing special. 5. On a number of occasions the staff was slow clearing dirty plates from tables in the always crowded Windjammer buffet restaurant. 6. Even though disembarking at the port of Coco Cay (Royal Caribbean’s private island) is a ritual the ship performs on a weekly basis, you would think the crew would have learned how and known better. Thousands of impatient passengers were trapped in small, narrow, overheated, confining exit ways for 90 brutal minutes before being allowed off the ship. There were no water fountains at hand. Not surprisingly, under these extremely uncomfortable conditions the mob of passengers became unruly. My wife said she’s seen better organized riots. 7. My wife noted the door frames in their cabin shower were rusty. Same with the floor surface on the balcony. Curiously, these features did not appear in the Royal Caribbean cruise brochure. 8. Although she was Diamond class by virtue of her past cruises on Celebrity, my wife had to actually ask for basics like a shower cap and lotions and a robe. The cabin had no carafe of ice water. 9. Having purchased a soda package, my wife had to continually ask for straws, which the crew were stingy to hand out allegedly due to environmental concerns — but they were ever present on more expensive alcoholic beverages. 10. To be sure, and in fairness to Royal Caribbean, there were parts of the cruise my wife did enjoy. Contrary to her low expectations, my wife said the food was decent, though selections on the MDR menu were limited. She said her cabin attendant and MDR server were very good. But maybe because we booked this cruise late, the fare was no bargain compared to what we pay on Celebrity (where we normally book early) — and yet she received a lot less for our money. For years we’ve heard Celebrity described as an upscale version of Royal Caribbean (they are both owned by the same parent company), but until my wife’s upsetting experiences on this cruise we were unable to appreciate what upscale really means. I was very disappointed overall entire cruise . The food was average . The lack of choices of women could go without having to pay to eat was minimal . The cleanliness of the ship was disappointing .My state room bathroom had a terrible smell of urine the entire time which my state room attendant tried multiple times to clean but he was unable to rid this smell. There was only one ice cream machine on the entire ship and many times when we went there it was shut down for service . The when jammer which was it a fair shot down by 9 o’clock at night there’s really no place to go get food if you want to late night snack other in the promenade which had very limited selection of food . our first day of getting off the ship the lines were insane and took about an hour and a half to get off there was no organization . I felt there was no direction or information regarding any of the excursions been trying to get help and the shows and entertainment in my opinion awful . Have been on more than seven cruises on various cruise lines and this by far was the worst . Also my son was eating a piece of chicken and a piece of toothpick was in the food and got lodged into his throat . The one thing I do need to say all of the workers were very pleasant and very nice . Many people who I spoke with on the ship who had sailed on Royal Caribbean prior said this was the worst Royal Caribbean cruise they had been on so I don’t know what happened on this particular sailing . also felt like they just tried to get additional money out of you at every corner you turned . Ship look like other than the main promenade that he just needed to be upgraded and renovated it looked worn down and just was not maintained to a cleanliness standards that should have been . We had a large group of 34 fanily memebers. None of them were happy with this ship. They have been on about 25 cruises and this ship was the worst. Games in arcade were out of order. Elevators were out of order. Refrigerator in our room didn't work. Bathrooms were out of order. Air conditioner in our room didn't work 2 nights. The line to get off the ship at Cococay Bahamas was not controlled and it took 2 hours to get off the ship. There was almost a physical altercation directly in front of us because the line was not controlled. People were coming down the elevators and steps and cutting the lines. We had made reservations in the main dining the very first day we boarded. One of the nights, they gave our table away so we didn't get to eat with our family. Aside from the kids club, some of the crew members are not kid friendly. I would absolutely never spend the money we spent to get on this cruise ship! Read Less

I am very disappointed in the ship and the cruise. I’ll list out my issues one by one. 1. There’s too many passengers on the ship. It was remodeled, but it seems they just added rooms. Days at sea are filled with fighting for elbow room with fellow guests. Long lines precede every single activity. With the exception of the gym after the first day, everything was packed. 2. The amenities are so-so. Flow rider? Rock climbing? Ehhh. Nothing spectacular. The pools are small and the hot tubs needed some maintenance and will ALWAYS filled. 3. Service was hit or miss. Stateroom attendant and 1 waiter were awesome. The rest was either bare minimum or rude/incompetent. The arcade featured nearly half of the games broken. When I asked the worker to fix the toy dispenser you use your tickets on so my child could get the toy they wanted, he said “Jesus Christ” and angrily fixed it. 4. As mentioned, the arcade had nearly half of the games broken and unavailable. 5. Food was just OK. Was handed dirty silverware in the windjammer cafe one day. They have one soft serve ice cream station on the whole ship and the line was always ridiculously long. 6. The trip left little actual time at the destinations and too many days at sea on that horrible ship. 7. The gym was nice. That’s about it. Would never cruise with RC again (I had over 20 years ago and the ship I was on was better then). I may not ever cruise again that’s how bad this was. Read Less

My family and I have been on 15 cruises but this was our first with RCCL. I really have no idea how this ship or cruise line gets high ratings on anything. The food in the buffet was the worst I’ve ever had. They really like curry and you better hope you love it too. We winded up eating burgers and hotdogs every time we ate at the buffet. Absolutely nothing appetizing there. No Asian station. No desserts only weird custards and puddings. Almost broke a tooth on a macaroon. Three times no lettuce to even make a salad. Please just stay away from the buffet. The main dining room was ok but not that much better. There’s nothing to eat after 9:30 so you better not be hungry after that. Ran out of cherries for drinks. Ran out of mix for pina colladas. Ran out of cones for ice cream machine which closes at 9 so no ice cream for you after that. I really can’t stress enough how bad the food was in the buffet. They want you paying extra in specialty restaurants so I think they make it as disgusting as possible. Shows were not that great. Boring and lackluster. I think a lot of these cruise lines are going downhill fast in all categories. Staff seems uninterested and not helpful. I did enjoy the spacious junior suite. Was roomy with plenty of storage and worth the little bit extra. Room was hot though as most of the ship was. Felt like they were trying to save money and not use air conditioning. Dining rooms and casino felt hot too. Overall it was a meh vacation for me and I wouldn’t book another cruise with RCCL. Read Less

Adventure of the Seas was “just OK” this cruise. The ship itself was clean, and well maintained. What was lackluster was the dining in both main and windjammer dining rooms. The menu never really changes, and service was extremely slow. Waiters never remembered our names, or what drinks we ordered everyday. The waitstaff seemed overwhelmed. No music in the dining room gave a gloomy feel while there. Windjammer selection never changed, and quality of food was less that Golden Corral. It seems as though Royal Caribbean is driving you to pay for the alternative dining of Chops Grill or Giovanni’s. The main theatre entertainment just OK. Some performances were canceled and substituted- coming off as unrehearsed. Entertainment brought on to the ship - illusionist and comedians very good. Cruise director really trying to get things going, but never really did. Cabin was very good, and stateroom attendant was excellent. Lizbeth was friendly and always available. I would not choose Adventure of the Seas again. Read Less

My wife and I decided to try a cruise. The Good: great food, suprisingly well equipped fitness area, and the staff was super friendly. The Bad: Prepare to pay additional costs for anything and everything. See Details Below. We spoke to an older couple at dinner early in the cruise who indicated they had been on countless cruises since 1984 and they assured us this is the worst they’ve been on so far. This confirmed our concerns about our own poor experience. Our first cruise experience and probably our last. We stayed in room 2343. Not a suite but not really a room either. The bed was hard as a rock. The room smaller than any hotel room we have ever stayed. Barely any TV except the massive array of royal Caribbean commercials and channels trying to sell you Royal Caribbean cruises and sponsored products. There are only two electrical outlets in the entire room so you may have to take turns charging devices. The food: Is delicious if you don’t mind waiting in line regardless of reservations. We didn’t bother trying most of the specialty dining restaurants as they are all additional costs on top of the already expensive trip. Internet package: Don’t bother. I understand the limitations of wireless at sea. However with the amount they charge per day per device, you would expect to be able to reliably stay on the internet or load a webpage. Don’t expect to stream anything. With so many people on the ship even simple web browsing is impossible. It might be cheaper and less frustrating to talk to your cellular provider if they offer international or roaming options instead. Beverage package: Don’t bother. You get a cup that you can fill up with soda or water in only 2 locations despite there being 14 decks (The Windjammer dining area and the 5th floor). You get no bottled water in the room nor is it available without paying. They really want you to pay the 3-6 dollars for bottled water or even more for other beverages on a cruise you could have sworn you already paid for in full. The worst part is the mandatory 18% gratuity on everything. We can understand that tips are essential to service personnel and having it automatically included ensures a consistent pay for all employees. However, we prepaid the service gratuity per day before embarking. The crew does provide good service but you’re asked if you will leave an additional tip on top of the mandatory 18% on each item you buy on the ship. Not only did you prepay for service tip, everything on the entire ship has 18% automatically added as an additional fee (that 3 dollar coffee is 3.54). Don’t be shocked if the crew gives you a look when you don’t put a tip. Overall, I don’t know if we will be back on a cruise. If we want to throw away money we’ll go to Vegas. Read Less

After going on one of RC's biggest ships, it is tough to go back to a smaller ship. Embarkation and disembarkation went smoothly. Room was adequate. Steward was nice. Had a not-so-nice experience at last night's MDR dinner (waiter failed to inform me that the fish of the day had been changed and placed the new fish in front of me without offering me a chance to re-order my dinner - I was not pleased when he tried to blame the kitchen instead of himself). Now I know why people avoid dinner in the MDR on the last night. Food and service at Windjammer was better than expected (should have had dinner here on the last night - Mongolian grill). Spent most of the time at the FlowRider. Advice: Do not bring a power strip / extension cord - they took mine away at security. Could not do anything at Port Canaveral without taking transportation (nothing walkable). Coco Cay was boring as it was too windy to enjoy the beach. Nassau was nice to walk and shop. Based on this cruise, I would not cruise RC again. Read Less
