1-10 of 11 Southampton to the Mediterranean P&O Ventura Cruise Reviews
We have been with NCl and Royal Carribean before. This itinerary worked for us and just trying something new. So Disappointing. The positives first.
Embarkation was easy and well organised.
Cabin L224 inside was fine.
Staff were very nice.
Nightly entertainment was good .
Plenty of outside space and sunbeds.
Food was seriously poor. The mdr was terrible and the 4 times we were at ...
P+O have certainly dropped their standards no doubt in search of greater profits that come at the expense of their passengers.
We have been on several P+O cruises before and was always reasonably satisfied but this one was bad from start to finish.
We missed three ports out of the seven scheduled stops and had only half a day instead of a full day in Zante, I appreciate that the weather ...
We are regular P&O cruisers and had a party of 12 for a much and long awaited cruise with family. Embarkation was great and we were excited about the widely reported refurbishment - couldn't find anything different I have to say!! Started to unpack and found a used sanitary towel in a bed side drawer - that was awful !!!!!!!. The toilet smelt strongly of urine and so did our daughters cabin on ...
Embarkation very quick and efficient. Security staff on boarding dour and unwelcoming - not a smile or greeting. Cabin size adequate with tea and coffee facilities (replaced daily). Complimentary shampoo etc. (The White Company). Cabin clean but fittings tired. Carpet badly stained and marked. Loo stained and it continually flooded (fixed fairly quickly). Cabin steward excellent - helpful and ...
This was a relatively inexpensive cruise and it showed. While nothing was particularly bad it was not particularly good either. The food was mediocre both in the Waterside buffet and in the restaurant (Saffron). The entertainment was, in the main 'cheap and cheerful', certainly nothing special. The enrichment activities during the day were practically non-existent unless designed to part you with ...
Embarkation and disembarkation can only be described as shambolic. It seemed everyone was at the terminal at the same time and so no seats and long delays to embark. They give people a piece of paper with an allocated colour for disembarkation but once the first call was made there was a mass exodus because no checks were made about what colour people were allocated . How hard would it be to give ...
First time for us, and the last with P and O I think. Not what I expected for the price, I'm not hard to please but this was quite downmarket. I got the impression from others who had cruised before that they felt the same, perhaps P and O are trying to appeal to a wider market but they are certainly not appealing to the higher end market.
Glad I chose freedom dining as there were certainly ...
We went with our good friends who we have done several cruises with before with Royal Caribbean & Celebrity, and decided to try P&O as we all liked the itinerary for this cruise on Ventura. Enjoyed all ports of call, although both ships tours we did were poor value for money. Lucca - lovely place and the 2 hrs we were given to explore was far too short and they could have easily given us at ...
This was the second time that we’d cruised on this ship. Standards have certainly dropped. Firstly the good points. Embarkation at Southampton was excellent and totally stress free. The cabin was ready as soon as we walked onboard and our room was very good. The ship has recently been upgraded and is very nice. Our cabin attendant was also very good throughout our holiday. Entertainment was also ...
We went a Ventura cruise for two weeks in the Med. We are experienced P&O cruisers aged early 50s.
The basic facts, as objectively as possible:
Embarkation was fairly swift a Southampton but the ship left port late due to underestimating the amount of baggage to be loaded.
The ship is huge and 90% of it is done very well. Two spacious show lounges plus the theatre. Unfortunately, despite P&O ...
