A Bucket List Trip

Review for a Alaska Cruise on American Constellation

My husband and I recently took ACL’s Alaska Inside Passage Cruise on their American Constellation (September 1-15, 2021). ACL made it the trip of a lifetime for us as we'd never been to Alaska before, and it was indeed very special overall. There were so many special moments that it’s hard to list them. Naturally, our room was everything we’d come to expect from ACL…roomy with plenty of ...

First time to Alaska, ship and staff were great. Excursions were great also I did quite a few. Now the downer side. We have cruised with American cruise lines before on a Mississippi river cruise from New Orleans to St Louis. The food was of high end and fabulous. Large bacon wrapped scallops, crab stuffed lobster tail cajun crawfish etc. The Alaskan trip no crab the whole trip no snow crab ...

My significant other and I, both 70, spent a week on the Alaskan Dream August 29-September 5. The trip far exceeded our expectations, which were high, as we'd been to Alaska before with UnCruise Adventures. The whole point was to see wildlife and scenery; it was a bonus that the 25 fellow passengers were great. One day, we spent two hours watching black bears feed on spawning salmon in a river in ...

The Absolute Worst Cruise That I Have Ever Taken

Small Ship Cruising Done Poorly Before I get into my review, here are some disclaimers as well as what I am basing my opinions on. The cost of this cruise ranged from $5500+ (U.S.) on up. This is key, as the brochures and other written material, as well as conversations with American Cruise Line staff members purported this to be a luxury/high-end cruise experience. Other factors ...

You are not going to get a better Southeast Alaska Wilderness Cruise, if you are looking for wildlife and the chance to get close to nature, period. Plus you will get to visit small Alaskan communities unvisited by larger cruise ships. I love cruising and have enjoyed Alaska cruises on bigger ships, as well as cruises in other places in the world. But I have lived in Southeast Alaska for 40 ...

Disappointing experience

This ship is in need of some time in dry dock! My cabin had no heat, had mold around the window, and the shower/toilet combo smelled like sewage. The ship’s generators both were broken for several hours one evening meaning no power. The lounge is shabby and tired. The zodiac engine quit one day and passengers had to be rowed back to the ship. And - the anchor cable broke! The website told ...

Alaska - amazing! American Cruise Lines - disappointing!

Eager to travel after the restrictions of the past year and a half, we chose this small ship Alaskan cruise. We had visited Alaska four times before, always on large cruise ships. We had taken one other ACL trip - Lewis & Clark, the Columbia and Snake Rivers. There were some "issues" on that trip - ACL seems to suffer communication deficiencies, but we were willing to try them again. I ...

WE CHOSE AMERICAN, BECAUSE THE LARGE CRUISE SHIPS WEREN'T SAILING. The food was outstanding! No buffets, all plate service at your table. We enjoyed that! Smaller ship meant less passengers, maybe 150 on our cruise. Easy off and on the ship. All alcohol was included in the price. It may cost more on a smaller ship but to us, it was well worth the attention we received from the crew!! All ...

2,145.49 7-day 2021 Alaska's Glacier Bay & Island Adventure cruise (Juneau to Sitka) with Alaskan Dream Cruises on the 104’ Alaskan Dream catamaran. We frequently cruise. This was not one of our favorites. The shoreside support pre-cruise was very lacking. Information provided to me in March regarding the duration we would spend at Mendenhall Giacier was inaccurate. I had been emailed that it ...

This trip far exceeded my expectations. I hoped to see all of the animals you hear about and we did. Bears catching salmon, okras, whales bubble net feeding, otters, sea lions and seals, eagles and puffins. Kayaking in Glacier Bay and having a front row seat of Marjorie calving. Skiff tours and bushwhacking also filling the days. We wanted a small ship and with 36 passengers, this trip ...
