Frequent Disney Cruiser- noticed some changes

We LOVE Disney and have bought the Vacation Club and have enjoyed many visits to both land and sea. We have cruised on the Magic several times before. This time we noticed some changes I thought I would note. I agree wholeheartedly with the travel agent who reviewed before me. But some of the changes have not resulted in an improved customer experience. Disney has added the gratuity to ...

Bucket List Itinerary Trip

My family has cruised the Caribbean a handful of times. We love the vibe of the Caribbean but yearned for different ports, and a more port intensive cruise compared to the usual 2-3 ports that you get on a standard Eastern or Western cruise. That put a Southern Caribbean on our bucket list. When we saw that one of our favorite ships, The Magic, was sailing just a handful of Southern itineraries ...

Disney Magic 7 Days from San Juan, Puerto Rico

We chose to travel with our grandchildren and their parents to celebrate both of the children's 3rd & 11th birthdays. We chose aft balconies on the port side. We usually were on the land side when we docked and saw the port. I suggest the starboard side (right) if you are doing the Southern Caribbean. The cakes we purchased for them were absolutely delicious. They did not have real candles but ...

I'm going to be giving comparisons based on our other cruise experiences since that's what I would be looking for. Embarkation was the fastest on Disney, likely due to the assignment of arrival times. Cabin, we had cabin 2134. It was just past the rank part of the hallway. The hallway in from of the next 6-10 rooms closer to the middle of the ship had a really rank smell that sincerely ...

Wonderful Southern Caribbean Itinerary

I was blessed to go on a limited "test run" itinerary on the Disney Magic going to the Southern Caribbean. They did 4 runs in September and October 2014, and DCL is undecided if they will renew this itinerary. I SURE HOPE THEY DO!! The islands were wonderful! We went to Antigua, St. Lucia, Grenada, Barbados, and St. Kitts. The locals were extremely nice and friendly. They were accommodating and ...

Disney Magic Christmas Cruise

This was our 4th DCL cruise (19th cruises total) and probably our last DCL cruise for awhile. While we had a great time, we just find that the extra cost (even with Florida Resident Rates) is just not worth it when compared with other cruise lines. The food, with a few exceptions, was just OK and, in some cases, downright bad - and we are not fussy. We eat anything and everything! But, DCL ...

Pre-cruise we stayed at the Days Inn in Cocoa Beach, Florida two nights before we were to set sail on our cruise. I really enjoyed the area of Port Everglades as it was significantly less populated compared to the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area. We left our hotel at 10:30am and arrived at Port Canaveral about 10:45am and I dropped off the family while they went to check in and I went to park the car at ...

11 Night Southern Caribbean Holiday Cruise

Normally we would spend Christmas at home with mountains of snow but for 2010 we decided to do something different. I have been on 2 previous Disney cruises before this Holiday cruise and they have both been superb! This cruise was a little bit different, longer cruise more people than ever before and it stop at at least 2 brand new ports to DCL. I purchased a miniature Christmas tree to make the ...

We drove to Port Canaveral from Texas. We took our time (2 full days) in case we ran into any car trouble. Stayed the night before at the Marriott in Cocoa Beach which turned out great because they let us leave our car there for the week, in a very shaded lot for FREE and parking at the port would've been about $105.00 at the time. The Hotel also gave us a shuttle to the dock at no charge. ...
