Miami terminal is a mess and chaotic. Boarded with a lot of people yelling that PA system told Platinum to board, but agents wouldn't let us. Guests became unruly. Platinum status is supposed to have baggage priority. We did not receive our luggage until after 7:00 that evening and that was with us going to desk twice to complain. Guests were either new cruisers or rude. No one paid ...

We chose this cruise because we were not thrilled with our last Royal Caribbean cruise, and we loved the stops (we hadn't been to any of them before), plus we could put all five us in a room together for a reasonable cost. It was our first Carnival Cruise (we had done Princess and Royal Caribbean before). Embarkation was extremely easy and quick. We left our hotel on the shuttle at 1015am. At ...

Second cruise with carnival, embarkation easy, 90 mins from miami hilton Airport Hotel to sitting in the pig and anchor having our first margarita and bbq.. We had a window cabin on the first floor, was nervous as was right by the stairs and lift but we didn't hear any noises at all Entertainment was a bit hit and miss, the karaoke was deafening in noise and tone... the carnival rockband ...

The good bad and ugly

The best - housekeeping was awesome our guy was outstanding. The good — when you had a complaint it was usually solved quickly. The bad - We had a family interior on the second floor and when we went to play the games in the family center on the 2nd floor. The games did not work and when we ask for the disk to play the games the lady she was just in charge of housekeeping of the room and ...

Food was ok but almost exact same thing EVERY day on Lido. The MDR’s served the same items just a tad more formal for the vast majority of the menu… Quality/temp etc. all sub par but you could eat at Guys burgers or tacos/burritos and both were great. Cabin steward and photographers also terrific. Cruise director made a few announcements and I saw him briefly once - other than that no ...

8-day family cruise, mid-50's couple with 19yr old son. Sailed out of Miami with port stops in Aruba, Curacao, La Romana (DR), and Amber Cove (DR). This was our 10th cruise as a family. We've sailed on Disney, Royal Caribbean and Norwegian. This was our 2nd cruise on Carnival. The first Carnival cruise was likely our worst - we weren't sure we would sail Carnival again, but the itinerary and ...

First Cruise and very dissatisfied

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Carnival Horizon

The room is as to be expected, small, we don't spend much time in there. Was always very clean and the staff was always pleasant. No complains with the room as I said it was as to be expected and fulfilled it's job perfectly. The food, the main dinning room hall food was horrible. They used below "Choice" grade meat which you can't even buy in your local supermarket. It's the kind of meat ...

Family Spring Break cruise to Southern Caribbean, Cabin 22**

The ship was big and there was a lot to explore, and for some background, I only have experience with Carnival, and the other ships were Magic, Dream, and Fantasy. We were lucky enough to snag "Faster to the Fun" and we believe it was worth it - even just for the embarkation/debarkation. My husband and I were excited to turn to "Gold" status on this cruise, but in actuality, the only major ...

This was our first cruise on Carnival Horizon. It was also our first back to back cruise. We boarded the ship on February 18th, in Miami. First cruise, an 8 night, went to Amber Cove, LaRomana, Bonaire and Aruba. Second cruise, a six night, went to Ocho Rios, Grand Cayman and Cozumel. 14 nights total on the ship. Overall the cruise was very nice. The ship was reported to be almost full ...
