My Wife and I Love Listening to Heart 104.5 Radio. We heard about their Jazz Cruise and enquired if there were any vacancies which there were so we Booked for their LoveJazz Cruise. We Booked a Disabled Cabin but to our diss appointment we got a normal Balcony Cabin which we were unable to get Our wheelchair through the door. After going to the Guest Services to complain we were given a seat for the shower as my Wife is unable to stand in the shower it was tiny but a shower seat was able to fit in. Apart from this small hiccup we had a wonderful time on board. The corridors were a little narrow to navigate the wheelchair as the laundry trolleys were also parked in them and it was a tight squeeze to pass them with the chair. The Public Areas were very Grand and wide so we were able to navigate them easily. There were plenty of elevators so we were able to get around to all the Decks. The Shows were great but no ramps to reach the seats upfront so we had to sit in the back as the wife could not navigate the steps. But we still had a good view of the action on stage. We enjoyed a good laugh with our Local Comedians who were on board. The Jazz Bands were good but played rather late in the evening for us Seniors I am 70 & my wife is 68 but we managed to stay up until 1-30am to listen to them. The Casino was beautiful to see although we are not Gamblers we went to have a look see at it. We.got to see most of the Ship the Shopping Area's and bought to MSC Jackets, as we forgot to pack Jackets and it got quite Chilly in the Evening's on Deck. It was my Wife's first time on a cruise and she thought enjoyed the experience that we have Booked again for next year on the MSC Orchestra, and we have a Disabled Cabin with all the bells and whistles yaay Read Less

When we embarked it was a long wait as this was a jazz cruise, but we'll worth the wait. I will do it again. The food, music, the kitchen staff, waiters and room attendants and cleaning crew was amazing. Iam thinking of doing this trip again with my kids What I also enjoyed the most was u can just chill anywhere on the boat and their is entertainment. The reception area for me was just my chill spot because I enjoyed lovely old school jazz. Thank you to all who made this possible. Travelled the Cpt to Namibia route. We also did a tour in Namibia. Sand dunes tour. Very intresting and informativè. I never went up to the dunes too steep but I was too unot to walk all that way. My husband went all the way up. He was extremely brave. Don't forget to take nausea medication before you board cause u can become sea sick. Take a few days prior. Read Less

Having travelled on MSC before I wanted to do the Jazz cruise. It was an experience I wish to share with my friends. The activities, shows, entertainment were superb. The staff were were very professional at all stages. Cabins were exceptionally clean. dining was divine. dressing up for each dinner was my highlight. The activities on board were well executed. Did I have fun! the service overall was of a very high standard. Staff was very helpful and just wanted to do their best. I loved the professionalism among staff on board. They go out of their way to make us feel special. Our room 10202 was always in an immaculate condition. Thanks to your staff members who operated that section. The excursions were well-planned and to the point. I was able to travel to Swakopmund for those hours and I really enjoyed it.I did not travel with my kids. But the parents of the children on board were taken care of. I hope to encourage more of my friends to go on this trip next year cause it is worth every cent. Read Less

This was my second MSC cruise experience, and as with the first one, I am highly satisfied with the experience. I am from the Western Cape and know Cape Town quite well, so before we embarked, we slept the night prior to the cruise in a hotel in Cape Town and went out for dinner, which is always awesome! Embarkation and disembarkation went very well, and I am really impressed with the way MSC are organized to let everything runs smoothly all the time. There are so many activities on the ship that one sometimes struggle to get to everything, because you enjoy one thing so much, and cannot just leave it unfinished to attend another thing that might be running concurrently! And I am that kind of person who wants to do them all (: The massive ship are very clean and tidy. The lounges and bars are really neat and one love to sit and relax there. The disco in the club and on the decks are amazing. The cabin is comfortable and always clean. I tested both the restaurant and buffet, and are very pleased with both in terms of food and the menu served. The entertainment offered is really world class and one gets the idea that MSC make sure that they present good shows and entertainment. The theatre, comedy, music and artists are stunning, very professional with that special way of involving the crowd in what they present, which is great. The crew staff are always friendly and ready to help with anything, which makes life on the boat very easy. All staff are giving their all in terms of service. The ports and shore excursions are great, although a bit expensive. I just need to touch on a few points which ZI think need consideration: 1. Is it necessary to take all the photos with everyone(I'm referring to the ones that looks like it is compulsory to take) The thing is, I've heard that so many people do not buy those photographs because it is really very expensive. I've asked what is going to happen to those hundreds of thousands of photographs that were to purchased by the people, and I've heard that it will be destroyed. Should people not be given an option to pose for those photos if they are going to buy it in the end. It is such a waste and destroying our planet as well? 2. The dinner seating: I had quite an uncomfortable experience where my travel buddy and I were placed for first seating. When we got to our table, there were already a family of three sitting. We did not know the family. My friend and I ordered wine to get rid of the uncomfortable situation in a way. Then the mother of the group told us that they are also uncomfortable with the arrangement, and they are Muslim, and not supposed to sit with people who drink wine. Now this situation caused us never to go to the restaurant again, because in our opinion, dinner is private, and we never had such an experience before. 3. The play area for the children seems also dangerous; on deck 14, the rails of the ship are not very high, and I think it creates a situation where children are exposed to danger, especially if their parents are not around: you know, falling down the stairs, or over the rails, etc. If I had small children, I would not be comfortable with the play area so exposed. 4. The theme parties are really good and people love it, but is gets so cold on that deck that it is really difficult to stay there for the whole evening!. On the previous cruise, discos were held every night in the club, which was so awesome, because the club is really big. I suggest the theme parties must be done in the club as well, like the last one with the pajama party. Lastly: The cruise overall was absolutely great! I am going again! Thank you sooo much!! How can I become a voyager club member! Read Less

Our first cruise was gifted by my boss. I always said cruises aren't for me - I need the soil under my feet. But was I wrong! It is something that every person should do at least once in their liftime. Embarkation & disembarkation was a breeze. The staff at the ports were very efficient and friendly. The queue constantly moved. The cleanliness of all the areas available to the public was of high quality. All crew were very friendly and helpful and someone was always on hand when we needed to ask something. Not to mention the food!! Eat as much as you like.... very fresh, very tasty, beautifully displayed, all served by very friendly and efficient crew. We did not have children accompanying us, but the children that were on the boat seemed to have a wonderful time. Enough activities to keep them busy. This is something I definately would want to do again!! Read Less

It was our first cruise and what an experience it was! We specifically want a cruise from Cape Town (no need to fly to Durban) and a cruise to Walvisbaai and one with a theme - Bokradio with it's shows was spot on! Me and my husband went on our own (25th anniversary treat), but meet two nice couples while waiting to board and they made the cruise extra special, especially our shore excursion in Walvisbaai. The vibe from start (while queuing to go on board) was great! Bokradio's music and all the passengers friendly and in a wonderful spirit! It was like this throughout the cruise! Our cabin on 14th floor was nice, clean with everything you need - close to the entertaining deck, but unfortunately far from our buffet restaurant! The food was nice - we did not eat in the dining restaurants because we asked for the 16:30, but received the 20:30 sitting - to late for us and the same time as the shows we do not want to miss! The shows in the beautiful theatre - we attended Steve, Manie and Ray Daylan - was VERY GOOD. The two shows of the crew itself - Tribute to Queen and Wonderland - was a nice surprise AND EXCEPTIONALLY GOOD!! We also spent some time in the lounges after shows, but with the Bokradio's artists singing in the Chrystal Lounge one evening there were NOT NEARLY ENOUGH SEATS for everyone and we spent most of the time standing with our drinks! We did spend some time on the deck and in a short while in the Jacuzzi (difficult to get a spot!), but I cannot spend to much time in the direct sun and it was a struggle to get an available chair and table under the small roof! Often there was only one person sitting at a table and keeping 4/6 chairs for friends/family for much longer than half an hour! The shore excursion to Walvisbaai / Duin 7 / Swakopmund was a highlight! We were 4 couples hiring an taxi outside the port for a very reasonable price and our "Chauffeurs " went out of their way to make it a memorable day for us! The communication from MSC throughout the cruise was very good - we liked the news letters we received every evening in our cabins with the program and high lights of the next day. The embarkation also went very smooth and organised. All in all - we had a wonderful time on the MSC Musica and will talk about it with friends and family for some time still! Read Less

I would like to give a special mention to a specific waiter in the belle epoque restaurant. His name is Sudiana (from indonesia). He was wonderful! We looked forward to dinner every night just to see him. His service was exceptional. He just knew how to connect with us on a different level. Your entertainment team with all the games were also great. They were funny and engaging. When asked by others about the cruise, the one thing i brag most about is the food. It is out of this world! The variety... the taste. Wow!!! A feast fit for a king. This cruise is worth every cent spent! My kids loved it. The jacuzzis, soccer field and games room were their favourite. and ofcourse the ice cream bar. I also loved how quiet and peaceful the cabins were. Perfect for an afternoon nap. Stopping at Namibia and being able to explore for a few hours was great, but I couldn't wait to get back on the ship. I love that msc cater for absolutely everybody. Young and old. From going to a disco, to lounging by the pool, to sitting in the many lounges listening to beautiful music, or playing fun games with fellow guests, they have it all. Read Less

First time coming to Southern African waters - bigger ship, high expectations. Dissappointed with the overall service, maintenance of ship needs attention. Paper placed between cabin walls an ceiling. Some sort of quick solution. Not sure if it was suppose to reduce a rattling noise. Overall impression of the ship - old and used and send down to make the last bit of money from it. Was suppose to be refitted. Not the case, carpets coming loose on stairs, pulling apart from areas around the lifts, balcony had rusted spots, windows were dirty. Strong smell off tabacco smoke, smoking is allowed in certain public areas but there are no extraction systems te get rid of the smell/extract the smoke. Traveled with MSC before and had a much better experience. Let down by the overall experience. The only positive was the friendlyness of certain staff members. Well not travel with the company in the future. Read Less

The balcony cabin was well appointed and the view and experience amazing. Cabins were cleaned on a regular basis and service always came with a smile. Coffee and cool drinks served at breakfast spoiled the elegance of the trip. The pizzas could also be covered with more toppings. The dinners in the evening were enjoyable although certain dishes such as the calamari (fish platter) was a disaster. The wine per glass was also poured without the bottle of origin not being displayed. The service of the waiter was implacable and efficient. Portage and excursions were well organised. Life guards were vigilant and 1 incident could have been avoided had there been insistence on parental guidance. All the areas well well maintained and clean. The pool and jacuzzi decks were most enjoyable.Smoking should be limited to very small areas where smoke does not affect non-smokers. I would like to do the same trip again in 2020 Read Less

We selected this trip as it was arranged by Bokradio and this is where it was advertised regularly as well as we are listeners of this radio station every day. The number of Afrikaans singers whom committed to the trip also contributed to our decision to go on the trip. The arrangements were excellent and as myself is a double amputee we were accommodated through early on board as well as preference treatment when disembarking at the Cape Town harbour on return. As a disabled person we were accommodated in a quite large suite and I could easily move around with the wheelchair in the room as well as the shower was also comfortable. The food, service and music was excellent every day. Thank you for also having a special place on the pool deck for disabled people it was needed and really appreciated. Just one comment I would like to make on the pool deck is that people should not be allowed to put towels and stuff on all chairs for their friends it should be first come first serve.I have seen this created some unhappiness with some people. Yes I would again go on the bokboottrip Read Less

It was just an amazing experience. I had on the MSC Musica and also thank you so much for the great kindness shown by die crew members and staff. The cocktails were amazing. The disco made the hole cruise for me. The whirlpool was just another great experience. The amount of food and the variety just made it so much better and the chefs were spectacular. The hole setup is amazing except that I had to walk through the restaurants to get to a certain point but nevertheless it was amazing. The tanning seats next to the swimming is very comfortable and I will definitely look if I can get some in hand because it is just great material. I like the fact that you are not allowed to smoke in the disco that helps a lot but I didn’t like the way people smoked in non-smoking areas and I’m not sure it waas clear to all the people Read Less

Bok Radio and South African singers for entertainment. Excellent party atmosphere, not a single boring moment. Sleeps like a baby withe the shake of the ship. The trip by taxi to Swakkop from Walvis was very memorable as we visited there when we where kids. The food on ship was excellent 24 hours a day, when you feel like nibbling there will be something to nibble. Restaurants were excellent as well and eat from menu. A special thanks to Diosdani Melgaurjo Gonzalez a waiter from Cuba who made our dining experience through his recommendations for what to choose from menu and his fantastic humor while serving you. We where seeing forward to engage with him every night. Thanks Diosdani. The deck on 13th level was always alive with a lot of entertainment and the service at the bars was excellent. Exploring the ship was an outing on its own with lots to see without feeling that you are at a wrong place which sometimes in the beginning let you wonder if you will find your cabin again which was fun too. Great experience hope to do it soon again!!!! Read Less

It was my first en not last trip on a MSC ship. This as i said was the best memory i could give my family. We did not see our our 2 boys for the first 2 days due to all the on board entertainment and supervision that was deliverd. Staff are so great and the service was as if we had our own room servent waiter on call and all just great. Food and drinks what can i say. Entertainment for us was so great and we made new friend as the staff that kept us busy was great. This was a Bok radio cruis and lots of entertaiment was availble but we found that our next trip will just be on MSC because we think the ships entertaiment was better and we had more fun theare. If at all possible i would like to metoin a Roger from Al Salavador from our dinning room every evening that made us feel like we own the ship. I would like to say that because of Roger i will save money daily to do a trip on a MSC ship again and meet staff like him, He made us feel welcome and was just GREAT overall. I hope that someday we would meet again. Great review need to have the negative part as well so this is it...Why did i have to get of the ship..... Thanks and hope to see you soon. Read Less

The Bokradio cruise has been on everybody's lips for a few years now. I decided to give it a try. What an amazing experience. Thank you to everyone that made our cruise a huge success. The ship was cleaned to perfection and everything was easily accessible. The cabin was perfectly cleaned every time we walked out of it. When we came back in the evenings the next day's program was on our bed and the bed was ready (just to jump in). The bedding was amazing. So comfy. The food was excellent. There was not one moment that I did not enjoy the meals. I am a fussy eater, but there was something for everyone. Our meal at the "sit down restaurant" was so much fun when the waiters walked up and down the passage with the pudding trays on the beat of Italian music. WHAT A SURPRISE! Overall I would recommend the cruise ship to everyone I know. Compliments to everyone involved. Read Less
