First Marella cruise, but not the last.

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Marella Discovery

We have been fortunate enough to have been on a range of holidays with various tour operators and different cruise lines. Our most recent being Cunard Line. A far cry from Marella, on pen and paper anyway. We wanted to try something new and after watching lots of reviews and videos online, we decided to give them a try and when a good deal popped up, we booked. We chose an itinerary that we ...

Overall it was a good cruise . We really liked some things like our cabin. Disliked other things like the lunch buffet at La Veranda . And thought some items were so-so. Like the excursions. I will say the staff and management were excellent. You book this class of ship because you want a smaller ship experience. ie no waiting in lines or fighting for pool chairs . Since the pandemic I have ...

First Cruise Ever - Never Crusing Again

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Jewel of the Seas

This was my first and last cruise. I am at loss for words… As a first time cruiser I had a lot of things to learn. Just suck that it came at such an expensive price! The only reason they got a 2 is because the service was good and our room was made everyday just like we like it. The food was HORRIBLE - I work in the school system and our lunch lady made gastronomic food compare to this! ...

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Seabourn Ovation

Seabourn Ovation was a very good experience as we like a peaceful cruise, excellent service and do not require many activities. The food and service in the main restaurant has greatly improved since our last cruise and is outstanding. We particularly enjoyed the speciality nights at The Colonade. The new restaurant Solis had just opened. It has a great ambience and spacious seating area but the ...

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Arvia

We have done 5 Caribbean cruises with P&O and this was the least satisfactory. Arvia is a huge ship and seems to have taken P&O distinctly downmarket compared to what we are used to. The one positive element on our cruise was Captain Camby, who was very assertive and authoritative, as well as keen to meet and communicate with his passengers. The behaviour of some of our fellow passengers was not ...

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Explora I

So, my wife and I started with our first booking on any cruise line in over five years with a spur-of-the-moment trip to the Caribbean. We literally booked the cruise from our home in the Dallas-Fort Worth area on 1/18/24 and landed in Barbados the following day (1/19/24), boarding Explora I that same afternoon. Let that sink in: After completing the booking mid-afternoon of 1/18/24, we ...

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Explora I

My wife loves to cruise -- me -- not so much. And as we live in Miami, the lure of the Caribbean is limited -- give me Key West, anytime. But just got back from the Explora, with dear friends, and it was truly amazing -- a floating Four Seasons is the best way to describe it. The restaurants were all terrific. The only so-so meal was my own fault. At Marble, the steakhouse, the server warned us ...

WOW! What a memorable experience we have had sailing aboard Explora I – literally the experience of a lifetime!! From the moment we set foot on Explora I, we watched the Crew work nonstop, going well above and way beyond to make sure that everyone’s experience is world class. Their eagerness to assist and their attention to detail – all the way from the Captain to the Room Steward – is ...

Will never cruise with P&O again!

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Arvia

Really shocked at how standards have fallen! This was a third rate cruise, dirty cutlery, grubby carpets in the Horizon Court, disgusting tables with grime all around the silicon where they were not cleaned adequately. There was an outbreak of D&V on board during the first part of our cruise, we actually boarded on the 1st of March. We complained about the lack of cleanliness many times, our ...

Regent really delivers luxury and at a high level. Naturally, there are occasional blips but this inevitable and does not take any from the overall experience. The service culture is evident. Management is visible and engaged in daily operations. I had not observed this on other cruise lines. The service staff is well trained, some are working on their english but all are clearly guest ...
