We chose this cruise for the Panama Canal experience and the size of the ship. Embarkation was quicker than anticipated as we hit a lull in the arrival of passengers.
The disembarkation did not go as well due to an unavoidable delay in tying up.
Also, there seemed to be no urgency in getting the luggage off the ship by the longshoremen; there was a lack of signage directing us to the ...
This 17 day trip was a great experience that was made special with our first time going through the Panama Canal.
We took our first cruise with Azamara in June 2016 on the Journey out of Athens and enjoyed every moment of it and booked this one while onboard.
We have done 9 cruises and are not as experienced as others but we have a daughter who worked on a cruise for a year when she finished ...
Azamara Quest Review Costa Rica 15-25 Jan 2018
This was our sixth cruise with Azamara and it was every bit as good as the last five.
We stayed in Hotel Bougainvillea in Santo Domingo, outside San Jose, for 4 days before embarkation. The hotel was set in 10 acres of botanical gardens and had a swimming pool. It was great for bird watching. We took a tour from there to La Paz Waterfall ...
Thank you Host Grandma Cruising! I'm glad you enjoyed the Costa Rica cruise...it sounds amazing.
And thanks for all your effort and concern. Much appreciated by all!...
As a senior, solo traveler I choose Azamara firstly because of the itinerary. and then because it is such a friendly environment. The lectures are varied and really interesting, My last cruises have had a bridge director on board which makes for well organized sea day bridge sessions. I also enjoy the trivia sessions and of course being smaller ships, they are often able to access ports the ...
Hello brumbygirl,
Thank you for the review of your month aboard with us recently. I agree that the 2016 refurbishment really improved our public, and private, spaces!
P.S. Azamara loves Solo...
As this was our 10th Azamara, we were looking at returning to the Quest with great enthusiasm. Our on board experiences again did not disappoint. Other reviews talk about the white nights, Azamazing evening and the like so I don’t see the need to revisit them in this review other than say that the signature events are exciting, anticipated and very much enjoyed.
The advantages of the size and ...
Thank you Aussie Travel Bird for the lovely review. We are so honored that you have sailed 10 times with already, and have booked another four voyages 2017-2018! ...
Going through the Panama Canal has been on my "bucket list." I couldn't think of a better way to cross than onboard Azamara Quest.
I boarded Quest in San Diego. The ports we visited were great, including an overnight in Cabo San Lucas, where the AzAmazing Evening was a performance of the "Dance of the Dead" in the Mexican desert. We then went to Zhijuatanejo (Mexico), San Juan del Sur ...
This was our third Azamara cruise, and the best one yet. These ships are beautifully maintained. The crew is top notch, and the food is premium quality. The inclusive fares eliminate most of the nickle and diming that is so irritating on most ships. The Azamazing evening was an outstanding piano concert by a Colombian artist, in an historic theater. Onboard entertainment is limited by the small ...
My husband and I have tried 7 ocean cruise lines thus far and have generally enjoyed Celebrity and Royal Caribbean a bit more than the others. So we had little hesitation in trying their sister line, Azamara Club Cruises, when a really good deal emerged on a Panama Canal Cruise. Eight friends agreed to join us for the January 5-15 cruise from Miami to Caldera, Costa Rica.
We all booked our air ...
Azamara Quest through the Panama Canal – January 5-17, 2014
Day 1:
Stayed overnight at the Hampton Inn a couple miles from the airport. Watch for the right van, there’s 3 Hampton Inns… Decently clean, better then usual TP, towels. Granite counter in the bath and a large room. Good dinner at the Cuban restaurant next door. Good breakfast included, a little birding behind the hotel (separate ...
My wife and I have recently returned to the UK after a 14 days cruise around Central America with Azamara Quest. We first started cruising in 1999 to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. It was an excellent cruise and we expected all other cruises to be similar. Sadly over the last 15 years, standards have fallen. So to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary we wanted something special, ...
